Abstract

Abstract We report on temporal evolution of three different kinds of correlations present between two mechanical resonators of two distant Fabry-Pérot cavities. The two cavities are jointly fed by a two-mode squeezed light and driven by two independent coherent lasers. We consider the initial state of the two mechanical modes as a two-mode uncorrelated thermal state. After evaluating the dynamical covariance matrix elements, we give explicit expressions of the measures of correlations defined via the Rényi-2 entropy, namely, the Rényi-2 quantum mutual information, the Gaussian Rényi-2 entanglement and the Gaussian quantum steering. We find that by an appropriate choice of the system parameters, it is possible to generate entanglement and steering via a quantum correlations transfer from squeezed light to the mechanical bi-mode state. The influence of the squeezing parameter, the optomechanical cooperativity and the environmental thermal noise on the correlations are studied thoroughly. Additionally, we show in various circumstances that the considered temporal correlations respect the hierarchical relation established in L Lami, C Hirche, G Adesso, and A Winter, (2016 Phys. Rev. Lett. 117 , 220 502).

Gaussian–Rényi-2 correlations hierarchy in optomechanics

Bouchra Maroufi, Jamal El Qars, Mohammed Daoud A

In a two-mode Gaussian state [Formula: see text], we report on stationary evolution of three measures of correlations defined via the Rényi-2 entropy, i.e. quantum mutual information (QMI) [Formula: see text], the Gaussian–Rényi-2 entanglement (GR2E) [Formula: see text] and Gaussian quantum steering (GQS) [Formula: see text]. We evaluate analytical expression of the covariance matrix fully describing the state [Formula: see text]. Further, we study, under influences of parameters characterizing the state at hand and its environment, the behavior of the three considered measures. We find that quantum steering [Formula: see text] is always upper bounded by (GR2E) [Formula: see text], which in turn is found always upper bounded by half of the QMI [Formula: see text]. This therefore satisfies the hierarchical relation [Formula: see text] established in [L. Lami, C. Hirche, G. Adesso and A. Winter, Phys. Rev. Lett. 117 (2016) 220502]. Importantly, we find that both GR2E [Formula: see text] and GQS [Formula: see text] are strongly affected by the thermal effects. Remarkably, when the GR2E [Formula: see text] thoroughly vanishes, the GMI [Formula: see text] exhibits a freezing behavior, and seems to be captured within a wide range of temperature.

Measure of general quantum correlations in optomechanics

Mohamed Amazioug, Mostafa Nassik, Nabil Habiballah

In this paper, we analyze nonclassical correlations between bipartite states in two optomechanical systems. The first system (Sec. 2) consists of two nanoresonators spatially separated by broadband squeezed light, where each cavity has a fixed mirror and a movable one. The second system (Sec. 3) is an atom-optomechanical system consisting of an atomic ensemble placed inside an optical nanoresonator with a vibrating mirror. For both optomechanical systems, we give the Hamiltonian and the explicit expression of covariance matrix leading to the quantum equations describing the dynamic evolution of the system. Then, the nonclassical correlations are quantified using the logarithmic negativity and Gaussian quantum discord. We propose also a scheme for examining the evolution of Gaussian quantum steering and its asymmetry in each system. We show that the entanglement of the two mechanical modes is very strongly related to the parameters characterizing the environment where the movable mirrors evolve, in particular the squeeze parameter, the optomechanical cooperativity and thermal bath temperature.

Dynamics of classical-quantum correlations between two movable mirrors in optomechanics

Mohamed Amazioug, L. Jebli, Mostafa Nassik +1 more

We study the dynamics of classical-quantum correlations in the nonadiabatic regime, using the rotating wave approximation (RWA), between two movable mirrors of two spatially separated Fabry–Pérot cavities, each of the two cavities having a movable end-mirror and coupled to a two-mode squeezed light from spontaneous parametric down-conversion. This work completes our previous work [M. Amazioug, M. Nassik and N. Habiballah, Eur. Phys. J. D 72, 171 (2018)] where we have studied the transfer of quantum correlations in steady state. The Bures distance is used to quantify the amount of entanglement of the symmetrical squeezed thermal state, and the Gaussian quantum discord is considered to quantify the quantumness of the quantum correlations even though the two movable mirrors are separable. Furthermore, total correlations are quantified using quantum mutual information. Indeed, these three indicators depend mainly on the temperature of the movable mirror and the squeezing parameter in strong coupling regime.

Quantifying non-classical correlations under thermal effects in a double cavity optomechanical system

Mohamed Amazioug, L. Jebli, Mostafa Nassik +1 more

We investigate the generation of quantum correlations between mechanical modes and optical modes in an optomechanical system, using the rotating wave approximation. The system is composed of two Fabry–Pérot cavities separated in space; each of the two cavities has a movable end-mirror. Our aim is the evaluation of entanglement between mechanical modes and optical modes, generated by correlations transfer from the squeezed light to the system, using Gaussian intrinsic entanglement as a witness of entanglement in continuous variables Gaussian states, and the quantification of the degree of mixedness of the Gaussian states using the purity. Then, we quantify nonclassical correlations between mechanical modes and optical modes even beyond entanglement by considering Gaussian geometric discord via the Hellinger distance. Indeed, entanglement, mixdness, and quantum discord are analyzed as a function of the parameters characterizing the system (thermal bath temperature, squeezing parameter, and optomechanical cooperativity). We find that, under thermal effect, when entanglement vanishes, purity and quantum discord remain nonzero. Remarkably, the Gaussian Hellinger discord is more robust than entanglement. The effects of the other parameters are discussed in detail.

Evolution of Gaussian Rényi-2 quantum correlations in a squeezed thermal environment

Madalin Calamanciuc, Аурелиан Исар

In this paper, we investigate, in the framework of the theory of open quantum systems, based on completely positive dynamical semigroups, the Markovian dynamics of Gaussian Rényi-2 correlations — quantum entanglement, quantum discord, mutual information and classical correlations in a system composed of two bosonic modes, interacting with a squeezed thermal bath. We show that the time evolution of the Rényi-2 correlations strongly depends on the parameters of the initial Gaussian squeezed thermal state of the considered system and on the parameters characterizing the squeezed thermal bath. It is shown that while Gaussian Rényi-2 entanglement is suppressed in a finite time, due to the interaction with the squeezed thermal bath, the correlations beyond entanglement — Gaussian Rényi-2 discord, classical correlations and mutual information undergo a freezing-like behavior, namely they decay only asymptotically, in the limit of large times. We also illustrate a fundamental hierarchy for bipartite Gaussian correlations.

Parametric Control of Two-Mode Squeezed Light via Engineered Reservoirs and Tunable Optomechanical Interfaces

Tarekegn Tarekegn-Ossie-Hundebo

Quantum optomechanical systems enable versatile control of non-classical light. We study two-mode squeezed-light generation in a driven optomechanical cavity with parametrically amplified optical modes coupled to mechanical resonator. Coherent driving reveals a rich control landscape where parametric nonlinearity, optomechanical coupling, and reservoir interactions jointly tailor quantum correlations-including two-mode squeezing, entanglement, steering, and discord. Remarkably, mechanical oscillators not only mediate optical entanglement but also act as a squeezing resource, enabling enhancement or suppression of quantum correlations via parameter tuning. We derive steady-state second-order moments and closed-form covariance matrix expressions, quantifying entanglement via logarithmic negativity, steering via Reid criterion, and discord via von Neumann entropy, providing a comprehensive framework for optimized generation of quantum correlations in hybrid quantum systems.
