Abstract

We have theoretically investigated the physical realization of entangled coherent states using cavity quantum electrodynamics. Specifically, a protocol of the cyclic three-level atoms interacting with bimodal cavity QED is proposed. The results show that the entanglement degree of the entangled state can be maintained at a high level under certain conditions.

Scheme for Generation of Entanglement among Bimodal Cavities

Song Xin-Guo, Feng Xun-Li

We present a scheme for generation of an entangled state in many spatially separated bimodal cavity modes via cavity quantum electrodynamics. A V-type three-level atom, initially prepared in a coherent superposition of its excited states, successively passes through both the bimodal cavities. If the atom is measured in its ground state after leaving the last cavity, an entangled state of many cavity modes can be generated. The conditions to generate the maximally entangled state with unity probability are worked out.

Realization of quantum SWAP gate and preparation for entangled coherent state based on optical microcavity

Shi-Qing Tang

Based on the cavity quantum electrodynamics (CQED), we propose two schemes for realization of basic quantum information processing tasks, i.e., constructing a quantum SWAP gate directly and preparation for entangled coherent states. In the present paper, we show that the quantum swap gates of photonic qubits can be implemented only by one step with a three-level Λ-type atom trapped in a bimodal optical cavity. The purpose for the direct construction of swap gates is to save a great many quantum resources in practical quantum information processing and reduce the number of required unitary operation. For the latter, we obtain the entangled coherent states via the large detuning interaction, in the process of the unitary evolution of dressed states. This scheme provides a suitable cavity QED to prepare quantum entanglement for researchers, and provides a wider horizon for the generation of quantum entanglement based on cavity QED, which, to some extent, possesses reference value and guiding effect in the experiment, and the quantum entanglement can be used for the potential application in the quantum information and quantum communication in the future.

Manipulation of Quantum Communication Channel via Two-Level Atom Interacting with Caving Fields

Xin Hua Cai, Jian Jun Nie

Base on the dispersive atom-cavity field interaction, the scheme for preparing the entangled coherent state is discussed. An experimentally feasible protocol for realizing entanglement concentration of the entangled coherent states by using a two-level atom interacting with caving fields is proposed. In this protocol, the entanglement between two coherent states, and , with the same amplitude but a phase difference is utilized as the quantum communication channel. The process of the entanglement concentration is implemented by using a two-level atom interacting with caving fields and two-modes orthogonal states measurement. With the present development of cavity quantum electrodynamics (QED) techniques, the scheme can be achieved.

Preparation of W state in resonant bimodal cavity quantum electrodynamics

Jia Lian-Jun, Zhen‐Biao Yang

A scheme is proposed for generating entangled W states with four cavity modes. In this scheme, we send a V-type three-level atom through two identical two-mode cavities in succession. After the atom exits from the second cavity, the four cavity modes are prepared in the W state. On the other hand we can obtain three-atom W states by sending three V-type three-level atoms through a two-mode cavity in turn. The present scheme does not require conditional measurement, and it is easily generalized to preparing 2n-mode W states and n-atom W states.

Generation of a 4-qubit cluster of entangled coherent states in bimodal QED cavities

E. M. Becerra-Castro, Wesley Bueno Cardoso, Ardiley Torres Avelar +1 more

We propose a scheme to generate a 4-qubit cluster of entangled coherent states in bimodal QED cavities. The scheme employs a single two-level atom that interacts dispersively with cavity modes initially prepared in coherent states. The fidelity and success probability of the state preparation are obtained considering the influence of atomic velocity spread and atomic efficiency detection. The scheme is also generalized for higher order cluster states.
