Quantum codes construction from skew polycyclic codes

Abstract

This paper establishes the relation between skew polycyclic and skew sequential codes over a finite field. We prove with different induced vectors that right Θ-polycyclic codes are left Θ−1-polycyclic codes. Further, we characterize the condition under which a code is both left and right skew polycyclic with the same induced vectors. Moreover, an analogous study is also discussed for skew sequential codes. Further, to show the novelty of our work, many examples of "MDS (Maximum Distance Separable)" codes are provided. Finally, as an application, we construct quantum codes with good parameters from these codes.

New quantum codes from skew constacyclic codes

Ram Krishna Verma, Om Prakash, Ashutosh Singh +1 more

For an odd prime $ p $ and positive integers $ m $ and $ \ell $, let $ \mathbb{F}_{p^m} $ be the finite field with $ p^{m} $ elements and $ R_{\ell,m} = \mathbb{F}_{p^m}[v_1,v_2,\dots,v_{\ell}]/\langle v^{2}_{i}-1, v_{i}v_{j}-v_{j}v_{i}\rangle_{1\leq i, j\leq \ell} $. Thus $ R_{\ell,m} $ is a finite commutative non-chain ring of order $ p^{2^{\ell} m} $ with characteristic $ p $. In this paper, we aim to construct quantum codes from skew constacyclic codes over $ R_{\ell,m} $. First, we discuss the structures of skew constacyclic codes and determine their Euclidean dual codes. Then a relation between these codes and their Euclidean duals has been obtained. Finally, with the help of a duality-preserving Gray map and the CSS construction, many MDS and better non-binary quantum codes are obtained as compared to the best-known quantum codes available in the literature.

Quantum and LCD codes from skew constacyclic codes over a general class of non-chain rings

Pradeep Rai, Bhupendra Singh, Ashok Ji Gupta

Abstract In this paper, we study skew constacyclic codes over a class of non-chain rings $\mathcal{T}=\mathbb{F}_q[u_1,u_2,\ldots, u_r]/ \langle f_i(u_i), u_iu_j-u_ju_i\rangle_{i,j=1}^r$, where $q=p^m$, $p$ is some odd prime, $m$ is a positive integer and $f_i(u_i)$ are non-constant polynomials which split into distinct linear factors. We discuss the structural properties of skew constacyclic codes over $\mathcal{T}$ and their dual. We characterize (Euclidean and Hermitian) dual-containing skew constacyclic codes. These characterizations serve as a foundational framework for the development of techniques to construct quantum codes. Consequently, we derive plenty of new quantum codes including many Maximum Distance Separable (MDS) quantum codes, and many quantum codes with better parameters than existing ones. Our work further extends to the characterization of skew constacyclic Euclidean and Hermitian Linear Complementary Dual (LCD) codes over $\mathcal{T}$, and we establish that their Gray images also preserve the LCD property. From this analysis, we derive numerous Maximum Distance Separable (MDS) codes and Best-Known Linear Codes (BKLC) over $\mathbb{F}_q$. Application of Constacyclic Codes to Quantum MDS Codes

Bocong Chen, San Ling, Guanghui Zhang

Quantum maximum-distance-separable (MDS) codes form an important class of quantum codes. To get q-ary quantum MDS codes, one of the effective ways is to find linear MDS codes C over Fq2satisfying C⊥H⊆ C, where C⊥Hdenotes the Hermitian dual code of C. For a linear code C of length n over Fq2, we say that C is a dual-containing code if C⊥H⊆ C and C≠ Fq2n. Several classes of new quantum MDS codes with relatively large minimum distance have been produced through dual-containing constacyclic MDS codes. These works motivate us to make a careful study on the existence conditions for dual-containing constacyclic codes. We obtain necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of dual-containing constacyclic codes. Four classes of dual-containing constacyclic MDS codes are constructed and their parameters are computed. Consequently, the quantum MDS codes are derived from these parameters. The quantum MDS codes exhibited here have minimum distance bigger than the ones available in the literature.

Quantum codes from Hermitian dual-containing cyclic codes

Jiafu Mi, Xiwang Cao, Shanding Xu +1 more

A new criterion for the existence of Hermitian dual-containing cyclic codes is obtained based on a characterization of q-cyclotomic cosets modulo n. This criterion admits a method of constructing new Hermitian dual-containing cyclic codes (hence new quantum codes) from the old ones, and enables us to construct several classes of quantum maximum-distance-separable (MDS) codes from classical Hermitian dual-containing cyclic codes. We analyse that our codes are good in certain sense. Besides, some enumerative conclusions are also presented as a result of the characterization of q-cyclotomic cosets modulo n.

Associated Complementary Dual and Quantum Codes of Skew Constacyclic Codes

Shikha Yadav, Ashutosh Singh, Om Prakash +1 more

Consider the ring Be=Fq+uFq+⋯+ue−1Fq, ue=u (e≥2), where Fq denotes the finite field having q=pm elements (for m≥1 and a prime p), and q≡1(mode−1). Skew constacyclic codes over Be are studied in this paper. We present their generator polynomial and describe the criteria for their complementary duality. Moreover, we derive criteria for these codes to contain their dual and obtain quantum codes. Additionally, we establish a Gray map that preserves duality and investigate its properties. We also take into account additive skew constacyclic codes for this purpose and also derive criteria for the complementary duality of these codes. Finally, we provide several LCD and quantum codes (MDS/ near MDS). The latter are compared with the quantum codes obtained in the recent literature.

Polycyclic Codes and Their Application in Constructing AEAQECCs

Juan Li, Yunbo Tian, Fanghui Ma

In this article, we study polycyclic codes over the ring R=Fq[v]/⟨v2−1⟩, where q=pm with p being an odd prime. First, we introduce polycyclic codes and sequential codes over R, and characterize the structural properties of these polycyclic codes. Next, we analyze the Euclidean dual codes, annihilator dual codes, annihilator self-orthogonal codes, and annihilator linear complementary dual (LCD) codes associated with this family of codes. Finally, some asymmetric entanglement-assisted quantum error-correcting codes (AEAQECCs) are constructed from polycyclic codes over R. Moreover, the parameters of our AEAQECCs are new in the existing literature.
