Abstract

The 20thcentury witnessed Albert Einstein offering a quantum-based theory - one whose rules contrast from those of the physical world - one which described the nature of atomic and sub-atomic particles. As time progressed, quantum theory became one of the greatest achievements of the 20th century. More than half a century later the quantum theory meets the computer world and quantum computing is born. Quantum computing will make it possible for modern computers to perform computations, calculations, and problem-solving approaches at speeds, unimaginable with today's technology. Quantum computing along with artificial intelligence can provide a computation boost and the speed of processing complex data and datasets will increase significantly. Quantum computing is the future. It will not only increase the computation power but also help to answer the questions which remain unsolved because of the limitations of classical computers and algorithms.

Comprehensive Review on Quantum Computation

B Jayaprakash

Quantum theory is without doubt one of the 20th century's best technological accomplishments. It provides a coherent structure on which many existing physical theories may be developed. Other major scientific triumphs of the 20th century and a modern field of quantum computing are brought in after more than 50 years of the beginning date. The quantum theory is coupled with computer science. The key aim of this paper is to research some (potential) Artificial Intelligence (AI), quantum computation applications and to investigate the interplay between quantum theory and AI. A brief perspective and a popular but easy quantum algorithm are given for the writers, who are not acquainted with quantum calculations so that they can appreciate the force of quantum computation. The aim of this paper is two-fold: to give AI researchers a brief introduction and a glimpse of the panorama of quantum computation; and to examine connections between quantum computation, quantum theory and AI.

Quantum Computing: Applications and Future Importance

W. Sarada, N. Rajalaxmi, Suchitha Reddy G.

Quantum computing is a fantastic technology that has been evolved throughout time and is 100 trillion times quicker than a supercomputer. It is based on quantum theory, which can do calculations using probability theory and linear algebra. These two disciplines of research are involved in all sub-areas of Data Science and other contemporary technology domains, and can answer a wide range of complex problems which even the most powerful supercomputer cannot carry out. Instead of just 0's and 1's where the classical computers encipher the data or convert the information, it works on qubit that is, it can hold up to two bits which is called as Quantum superposition where it has two different states zero or one in which it can be defined and is also possible for it to exist in both, i.e. a superposition of the two states. Light based quantum computer outperforms the classical super computer by exceeding its performance speed. Quantum computing can solve known problems such as encryption and cyber security. Quantum computing has the ability to process quickly to arrive at a solution and offers well and more computing power to the world of Artificial Intelligence systems and efficient Machine learning systems by solving small and large problems much faster. The main aim or objective of this paper is to discuss about the applications and importance of quantum computing in future which is very helpful to the people who are associated with cryptography, Aviation, Data Analytics, Forecasting, Medical research, Pattern matching, self-driving cars and so on.

Quantum Computing - The Future of Computing

Faisal Hassan, Asif Mushtaq, Waqib Ahmad +1 more

Quantum theory is one of the most successful theories that have influenced the course of scientific progress during the twentieth century. It has presented a new line of scientific thought, predicted entirely inconceivable situations and influenced several domains of modern technologies. There are many different ways for expressing laws of science in general and laws of physics in particular. Similar to physical laws of nature, information can also be expressed in different ways. The fact that information can be expressed in different ways without losing its essential nature, leads for the possibility of the automatic manipulation of information. Quantum computing is a study area that focuses on developing computers based on the properties of “quantum theory” & “quantum physics”. Quantum theory defines the behavior & nature of energy and matter on the “atomic” and “subatomic” levels also known as the quantum levels. A quantum computer is a computational device that utilizes the phenomena of quantum mechanics with its quantum properties to structure & process data. A large-scale quantum computer is capable of performing operations in exponentially enormous speed compared to a classical computer. Development of such computers is considered a massive leap for mankind in computing abilities with huge performance gains for simulations or brute force for example. All ways of expressing information use physical system, spoken words are conveyed by air pressure fluctuations: “No information without physical representation”. Quantum computers are not meant to replace typical computers. In practice, they will be separate instruments used to solve complex, data-heavy problems, particularly those that make use of machine learning, where the system can make predictions and improve over time.

The Future of Quantum Computing

Yaash Sahnan

Quantum Computing often described as one of the most exciting frontiers of modern science—a field that does not just push the boundaries of technology but also reshapes how we think about solving problems. Unlike classical computers, which process information in simple 0s and 1s, quantum mechanics, allowing a single qubit to explore multiple possibilities at the same time. This gives them the potential to perform calculations that would take even today’s most powerful supercomputers thousands of years. In recent years, progress has been rapid, with breakthroughs in hardware, algorithms and applications that range from developing new medicines to strengthening artificial intelligence and tackling climate change. Yet, enormous challenges remain, such as stabilizing fragile qubits, reducing error rates, and making these systems accessible beyond a handful of elite labs. This paper explores both the promises and the pitfalls of quantum computing, offering a closer look at how it could reshape industries, global security and even the pace of human innovation in the decades ahead.

How quantum computing powers the future of artificial intelligence

Rishabh Anand

Companies like Intel, a pioneer in chip design, are driving the transition from classical computing to the next generation of quantum computing. Alongside Intel, tech giants such as IBM, Microsoft, and Google are also making significant strides in this domain. The race is on to create the world's first functional quantum computer capable of fulfilling the technology's long-promised potential—developing revolutionary materials, encrypting data with near-perfect security, and accurately forecasting climate changes. While such breakthroughs may still be over a decade away, companies like IBM, Microsoft, Google, Intel, and other leading players continue to celebrate even the smallest incremental advancements in this field. Most of these milestones revolve around increasing the number of quantum bits, or qubits—the foundational units of information in a quantum computer—on a processor chip. However, the journey to quantum computing extends far beyond controlling subatomic particles. Quantum computing's expanding capabilities are opening up new possibilities for processing the immense volumes of structured and unstructured data generated today. This progress serves as a powerful enhancement to artificial intelligence (AI), enabling it to evolve toward the next generation of super artificial intelligence (SAI) in the near future. Researchers worldwide have been working since the end of the last century on the development and application of quantum computation.

A Brief Study on Quantum Computing

Preeta Chatterjee, Rishika Chakraborty

In the twentieth century, quantum physics is one of the most successful approaches in scientific progress. To theorize the concept of quantum computing Max Planck's idea of the existence of energy in individual units like matter was used. Since then, the idea of manufacturing quantum computers for everyday use is becoming more plausible with technological advances in quantum theory. A classical computer carries out logical operations using a bit which is either 1 or 0. In contrast to a classical computer, a quantum computer works with a quantum bit or qubit, which is not limited to two states only. Qubits can exist in a superposition of the two states creating parallelism. Qubit represents the state of atoms, ions, photons or electrons. These qubits which work together with a control device act as a computer memory.Quantum computers have the potential to become million times more potent than present-day supercomputers due to the presence of these multiple states simultaneously. Concepts and ideas of quantum computing have been demonstrated by different methods like Ion Trap, Quantum Dot methods etc. However, the actual realization of such a superior system is still in the future. A strategy must be formulated to maintain decoherence and other potential sources of error at a permissible level.Astonishingly, quantum computing took a long time to take off, even though the physicists have known about the world of subatomic particles. Even so, it took computer scientists another half-century to consider harnessing quantum effects for computation. Also, it was later discovered that quantum computers could solve quantum mechanical many-body problems that are impractical to solve on a classical computer. The foundations of the subject of quantum computation may have become well-published, but the knowledge is still growing. Hence here is a research paper based on the study of quantum computation.
