Abstract

Abstract All realistic quantum systems will interact with their environments. This fact presents challenges to the implementation of quantum systems for practical systems. One of the most important quantum resources is the implementation of entanglement. In this paper, we investigate the interplay between the effects of noisy environments and the dynamics of entanglement. The open quantum system model that will be used is cavity quantum electrodynamics (CQED) with three-qubit interacting independently with a variation of environmental model. We use master equation to describe the dynamics of the open quantum system and a lower bound concurrence (CLBC ) to measure the entanglement of tripartite qubit. We derive the exact dynamics of each model and use CLBC method proposed by Li et.al to visualize entanglement dynamics. By adjusting the environmental parameters, we also found revivals and dark-periods of entanglement which are unique to non-Markovian processes.

Entanglement dynamics of three atoms in optical cavity coupled to reservior

Xing Gui-Chao, Yun‐Jie Xia

Quantum entanglement is one of most remarkable features of quantum mechanics, and in recent years it has played a more and more important role in quantum information. However, real quantum system inevitably interacts with the environment, resulting in the entanglement decay or even entanglement sudden death,so it is necessary to study the entanglement dynamical properties of an open system under different environments. In this paper,we investigate the entanglement dynamic behaviors of three interacting two-level atoms in an optical cavity which is coupled to a structured zero-temperature bosonic reservoir.Laplace transform,LBC and other methods are utilized, through numerical method we analyze the entanglement dynamic behavios of tripartite of three atoms and bipartite of cavity and reservoir. We also discuss how the coupling parameters affect the entanglement dynamics. Results show that in a short time, the entanglement of tripartite increases with coupling strength of three atoms increasing, and a periodic oscillation appears, but entanglement of bipartite decreases. The entanglement of tripartite decreases with the coupling strength between atoms and cavity increasing and damping oscillation appears, but the entanglement of bipartite increases. In a long-time limit, the entanglement approaches to a steady value. The non-Markovian dynamics of the qubits is determined by both the coupling strength and the spectral width. The strong system-reservoir coupling regime results in the non-Markovian dynamics of system. As the spectral width increases, the system of three atoms transforms from non-Markovian regime to Markovian regime. The increasing of spectral width results in the Markovian dynamic behavior of system, but the system of the atoms falls into the non-Markovian regime once more. When the coupling between the cavity and reservoir is weak, the entanglement of three atoms increases as the detuning of the cavity and reservoir increases, but it is not obvious. When the coupling between the cavity and reservoir is strong, the entanglement of three atoms increases and a periodic oscillation appears with increasing the detuning between the cavity and reservoir,so we can effectively restrain the effects of dissipation of reservoir on entanglement decay by adjusting the detuning between the cavity and reservoir.

Entanglement dynamic of arbitrary number qubit in the open quantum systems

Zahra Bakhshi, E. Morsheddoost, Zeynali, A.

We study the entanglement dynamics of multi-qubit systems coupled to a common dissipative environment, focusing on systems with one or two initially excited qubits. Using the Lindblad master equation, we derive the time evolution of the density matrix and analyze the entanglement between qubit pairs via the concurrence measure. The solution method involves applying the Lindblad super-operator to the initial density matrix, generating a subspace of non-duplicate states. We extend our analysis to $n$-qubit systems, including three-qubit and four-qubit configurations, and explore the effects of thermal noise on entanglement dynamics. Our results demonstrate how initial conditions, system size, and environmental interactions shape entanglement, providing valuable insights for quantum information processing applications.

Quantum W-Type Entanglement in Photonic Systems with Environmental Decoherence

K. Berrada, Smail B. Bougouffa

Preserving quantum entanglement in multipartite systems under environmental decoherence is a critical challenge for quantum information processing. In this work, we investigate the dynamics of W-type entanglement in a system of three photons, focusing on the effects of Markovian and non-Markovian decoherence regimes. Using the lower bound of concurrence (LBC) as a measure of entanglement, we analyze the time evolution of the LBC for photons initially prepared in a W state under the influence of dephasing noise. We explore the dependence of entanglement dynamics on system parameters such as the dephasing angle and refractive-index difference, alongside environmental spectral properties. Our results, obtained within experimentally feasible parameter ranges, reveal how the enhancement of entanglement preservation can be achieved in Markovian and non-Markovian regimes according to the system parameters. These findings provide valuable insights into the robustness of W-state entanglement in tripartite photonic systems and offer practical guidance for optimizing quantum protocols in noisy environments.

Exact entanglement dynamics mediated by leaky optical cavities

Yusui Chen, Quanzhen Ding, Wufu Shi +2 more

Abstract We present a quantum-state-diffusion equation to characterize the dynamics of a generic atomic system due to the coupling to a leaky cavity mode. As quantum resources, the population, the coherence and even the entanglement of the system would gradually leak out of the cavity. The effect from the leakage of the cavity-mode to the uncontrollable degrees of freedom, e.g. environment, is however not always negative to particular applications of these quantum resources. We investigate the competition between these two mechanisms in the framework of the non-Markovian open-quantum-system dynamics, where the leaky mode serves as a general two-layer bosonic environment. Numerical calculations based on our non-perturbative approach reveal a generation of quantum entanglement in the qubit system due to the coupling to a resonant leaky cavity.

Non-Markovian qubit dynamics in nonequilibrium environments

Xiang-Ji Cai

We theoretically study the non-Markovian dynamics of qubit systems coupled to nonequilibrium environments with nonstationary and non-Markovian statistical properties. The reduced density matrix of the single qubit system satisfies a closed third-order differential equation with all the higher-order environmental correlations taken into account and the reduced density matrix of the two qubit system can be expressed as the Kraus representation in terms of the tensor products of the single qubit Kraus operators. We derive the relation between the entanglement and nonlocality of the two qubit system which are both closely associated with the decoherence function. We identify the threshold values of the decoherence function to ensure the existences of the concurrence and nonlocal quantum correlations for a given evolution time when the two qubit system is initially prepared in the composite Bell states and the extended Werner states, respectively. It is shown that the environmental nonstationary feature can suppress the decoherence and disentanglement dynamics and can reduce the coherence and entanglement revivals in non-Markovian dynamics regime. In addition, it is shown that the environmental non-Markovian feature can enhance the coherence revivals in the single decoherence dynamics and the entanglement revivals in the two qubit disentanglement dynamics, respectively. Furthermore, the environmental nonstationary and non-Markovian features can enhance the nonlocality of the two qubit system.

Effects of Markovian noise and cavity disorders on the entanglement dynamics of double Jaynes-Cummings models

Harsh Rathee, Kishore Thapliyal, Anirban Pathak

The ability to prepare and manipulate non-classical states, such as entangled qubits, is fundamental to the development of quantum information processing, communication, and computation. In this work, we investigate the dynamics of a double Jaynes-Cummings model, a well-established theoretical framework for studying light-matter interactions that captures essential features of a wide range of quantum systems, including circuit QED, optomechanics, and atomic cavity systems. We examine the model under the influence of Markovian noise and static (glassy) cavity disorder. The study aims to elucidate the impact of these imperfections on entanglement dynamics. The system is initialized with the cavity fields in vacuum and the two atoms in a specific entangled superposition state. Through numerical simulations, we observe that the presence of noise and nonlinear pumping gives rise to nontrivial features in the entanglement evolution, including the emergence of entanglement sudden death (ESD) and subsequent revivals in scenarios where such phenomena are absent in the idealized model. Markovian noise leads to a monotonic decay of entanglement, while disorder tends to wash out the entanglement features. Nonlinear interactions, on the other hand, accelerate the dynamical evolution. The combined and competing effects of noise, disorder, and nonlinearity are systematically analyzed, revealing rich and intricate behavior in the entanglement dynamics. These results contribute to a deeper understanding of the robustness and control of entanglement in open quantum systems with imperfections, which is essential for realistic implementations of quantum technologies.
