Dynamics of quantum effects in a three-level system interacting with two-mode time-dependent fields including parametric down conversion and damping

Mohamad Kh. Ismail, A. H. Ahmed, Tarek M. El-Shahat +3 more

In this article, the interaction between a time-dependent damping field and Λ-type of three-level atom is investigated. The effect of the atom and the fields' parameters on the behaviour of the atomic inversion, the generated entanglement between the atom and the cavity modes, the Pancharatnam geometric phase are discussed. It is shown that the phenomena of the collapses and revivals for the three physical quantities depend on the time-dependent coupling and the damping parameter. The long-lived behaviour of the non-classical correlation is observed either on the presence of only time-dependent coupling or at large values of the damping parameter. The damping effect has different features on the three phenomena, where the atomic inversion decays, the upper bounds of entanglement increases and increases periodic time of the Pancharatnam geometric phase.

Pancharatnam phase of two Cooper-pair boxes in a dissipative cavity

Mahmoud Abdel‐Aty, Waheeb Essa Alnaser

The time evolution of a single Cooper pair in the presence of another Cooper pair interacting with an electromagnetic field in a dissipative cavity is presented. The strong dependence of the dynamics of two superconducting charge qubits interacting with the microcavity field on the instantaneous phase shift experienced by the second qubit is demonstrated. The Pancharatnam phase is found to be more sensitive than the population dynamics to the phase shift. This leads us to suggest a new technique for controlling the system dynamics. Furthermore, although the atom is not directly coupled to the cavity modes, its coherent properties are found to be strongly influenced by dissipation, both qualitatively and quantitatively.
