In the present day today communication and increasing complexity of hacking we need to have a good control over our communication technologies. One of the primary concern is our cyber security and data transmission technology which is used for secret government information, defense data and other scientific reports.Quantum communication is one of the new emerging technology which is being adopted for confidential data transmission in all these areas.Quantum communication is based on Quantum Key Distribution(QKD). In this research we have discussed the basics of quantum key distribution with its mathematical analysis in DSP, simulation, control, applications and challenges.
In today's evolving communication scenery, ensuring data security is vital. A viable remedy is provided by quantum cryptography, which uses quantum mechanics to create communication channels that are intrinsically secure. This paper clarifies the theoretical underpinnings and real-world applications of quantum cryptography through an extensive review of the literature. Key concept such as Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) is analysed to assess their effectiveness. QKD ensures unbreakable encryption by utilizing quantum principles to distribute keys. With its exceptional ability to withstand eavesdropping attacks, QKD provides secure channels that can span great distances. The development of quantum-resistant encryption algorithms is being aided by the advancement of practical implementations. Furthermore, the paper also highlights issues and unanswered research questions regarding implications of QKD for secure communication.
Secure communication and information protection become more and more important in the modern society. Quantum key distribution (QKD) enables two remote legitimate users to share unconditionally secure keys. Different from the former ones, the security of these keys is based on the principles of quantum physics and could be proved. Combined with one-time pad encryption, QKD can provide us an effective way for secure communication and information protection[1, 2]. Since Bennett and Brassard proposed the famous BB84 protocol[3], QKD or quantum cryptography has become one of the most dynamic research fields. After about twenty years of development, experimental QKD has achieved significant improvements, such as the transmission distance increased from 32 cm[4]to 260 km[5], the speed increased from 200 Hz[4]to 10 GHz[6].
