On Modeling of Statistical Properties of Classical 3D Spin Glasses

Ashot S. Gevorkyan, H. G. Abajyan, Е. A. Ayryan

We study statistical properties of 3D classical spin glass layer of certain width and infinite length. The 3D spin glass is represented as an ensemble of disordered 1D spatial spin-chains (SSC) where interactions are random between spin-chains (nonideal ensemble of 1D SSCs). It is proved that at the limit of Birkhoff's ergodic hypothesis performance 3D spin glasses can be generated by Hamiltonian of disordered 1D SSC with random environment. Disordered 1D SSC is defined on a regular lattice where one randomly oriented spin is put on each node of lattice. Also it is supposed that each spin randomly interacts with six nearest-neighboring spins (two spins on lattice and four in the environment). The recurrent transcendental equations are obtained on the nodes of spin-chain lattice. These equations combined with the Silvester conditions allow step by step construct spin-chain in the ground state of energy where all spins are in minimal energy of classical Hamiltonian. On the basis of these equations an original high-performance parallel algorithm is developed for 3D spin glasses simulation. Distributions of different parameters of unperturbed spin glass are calculated. In particular, it is analytically proved and by numerical calculations shown that the distribution of spin-spin interaction constant in Heisenberg nearest-neighboring Hamiltonian model as opposed to widely used Gauss-Edwards- Anderson distribution satisfies Lévy alpha-stable distribution law which does not have variance. A new formula is proposed for construction of partition function in kind of one-dimensional integral on energy distribution of 1D SSCs

Strategy for solving difficulties in spin-glass simulations

Tota Nakamura

A spin-glass transition has been investigated for a long time but we have not reached a conclusion yet due to difficulties in the simulation studies. They are slow dynamics, strong finite-size effects, and sample-to-sample dependencies. We found that a size of the spin-glass order reaches a lattice boundary within a very short Monte Carlo step. A competition between the spin-glass order and a boundary condition causes these difficulties. Once the boundary effect was removed, physical quantities exhibited quite normal behaviors. They became self-averaging in a limit of large replica numbers. These findings suggest that the nonequilibrium relaxation method is a good choice for solving the difficulties if a lattice size and a replica number are set sufficiently large. A dynamic scaling analysis on nonequilibrium relaxation functions gave a result that the spin-glass transition and the chiral-glass transition occurs at the same temperature in the Heisenberg model in three dimensions. The estimated critical exponent ν agrees with the experimental result.

Dynamical Simulation of Spin-Glass and Chiral-Glass Orderings in Three-Dimensional Heisenberg Spin Glasses

Hikaru Kawamura

Spin-glass and chiral-glass orderings in three-dimensional Heisenberg spin glasses are studied with and without random magnetic anisotropy by dynamical Monte Carlo simulations. In the isotropic case, clear evidence of a finite-temperature chiral-glass transition is presented. While the spin autocorrelation exhibits only an interrupted aging, the chirality autocorrelation persists to exhibit a pronounced aging effect reminiscent of the one observed in the mean-field model. In the anisotropic case, asymptotic mixing of the spin and the chirality is observed in the off-equilibrium dynamics.
