A modified Bohr’s quantization rule to estimate the energy levels of relativistic systems

Felan Amal, Tavarekere Shivalingaswamy, B. A. Kagali

Abstract Estimation of quantum energy levels is crucial to understand the physical systems in both non relativistic and relativistic domains. Here we put forward a new method to deduce quantized energy levels of some simple relativistic quantum systems without solving wave equations but using Bohr’s quantization rule along with a few suitable modifications. The results obtained are in good agreement with formal calculations available in the literature.

Adiabatic Invariance in Simple Harmonic Motion

Leonard Parker

We show, in an elementary but apparently new way, that the ratio of the energy to the frequency of a simple harmonic oscillator is an adiabatic invariant. The adiabatic invariance is a consequence of the conservation of angular momentum in the two-dimensional system, of which the one-dimensional harmonic oscillator is the projection. We also briefly discuss the connection between the quantization of angular momentum and the quantization of the oscillator's energy.

Quantum-Classical System: Simple Harmonic Oscillator

Tri Sulistiono

Problems concerning with application of quantum rules on classical phenomena have been widely studied, for which lifted up the idea about quantization and uncertainty principle. Energy quantization on classical example of simple harmonic oscillator has been reviewed in this paper.
