Coherent Control of Quantum and Classical Correlations in Photoionization

Axel Stenquist, Jan Marcus Dahlström

The ability to control quantum correlations in strongly driven systems is a central challenge across quantum science, with implications for ultrafast dynamics, quantum control, and information processing. In photoionization, the emitted electron and residual ion may form an entangled system whose correlations encode the underlying light-matter interaction, yet control of their generation and observable manifestation in continuum systems remains largely unexplored. Here we demonstrate phase-resolved control of electron-ion correlations using phase-locked pulse sequences in the strong-coupling regime. We show that entanglement can be halted and reshaped with attosecond precision, and that phase-dependent correlations can be redistributed into population-based correlations, leading to entanglement that is directly reflected in joint observables. These results establish a route to coherently shape entanglement in photoionization and open new possibilities for accessing and controlling quantum correlations in systems where measurements are intrinsically basis constrained.

Time evolution of quantum correlations in presence of state dependent bath

Mehboob Rashid, Muzaffar Qadir Lone, Prince Ahmad Ganai

Abstract The emerging quantum technologies heavily rely on the understanding of dynamics in open quantum systems. In the Born approximation, the initial system-bath correlations are often neglected which can be violated in the strong coupling regimes and quantum state preparation. In order to understand the influence of initial system-bath correlations, we study the extent to which these initial correlations and the distance of separation between the qubits influence the dynamics of quantum entanglement and coherence. It is shown that at low temperatures, the initial correlations have no role to play while at high temperatures, these correlations strongly influence the dynamics. Furthermore, we have shown that the distance of separation between the qubits in presence of a collective bath helps to maintain entanglement and coherence at long times.

Charge pairing by quantum entanglement in strongly correlated electron systems

Byung Gyu Chae

Various charge pairings in strongly correlated electron systems are interpreted as quantum entanglement of a composite system. Particles in the intermediate phase have a tendency to form the coherent superposition state of the localized state and the itinerant state, which induces the entanglement of both particles in the bipartite subsystems for increasing the entropy of the system. The correction to the entropic Coulomb force becomes an immediate cause of charge pairing.
