Role of Coherence for Quantum Computational Advantage

Hugo Thomas, Pierre-Emmanuel Emeriau, Rawad Mezher +3 more

Quantifying the resources available to a quantum computer appears to be necessary to separate quantum from classical computation. Among them, entanglement, nonstabilizerness, and coherence are arguably of great significance. We introduce "path coherence" as a measure of the coherent path interferences arising in a quantum computation. Leveraging the sum-over-paths formalism, we obtain a classical algorithm for estimating quantum transition amplitudes, the complexity of which scales with path coherence. As path coherence relates to the hardness of classical estimation of quantum transition amplitudes, it provides a new perspective on the role of coherence in quantum computational advantage. Beyond their fundamental significance, our results have practical applications for simulating large classes of quantum computations with classical computers.

Quantum Coherence-Based Computation Architecture

Jincheng Zhang

This paper proposes a novel computational architecture predicated on the principles of quantum coherence. The core idea is to leverage the inherent properties of quantum coherence – specifically, the ability of a quantum system to exist in a superposition of states – to enhance both the accuracy and efficiency of computations. Traditional computational models often struggle with inherent noise and limitations in representing complex relationships. This architecture aims to mitigate these challenges by exploiting the quantum mechanical phenomenon of coherence. We will detail the theoretical framework, including key equations governing coherence, and outline a proposed architecture designed to harness coherence for specific computational tasks. The architecture focuses on minimizing decoherence effects while maximizing the utilization of coherence, ultimately leading to a potentially significant improvement in computational performance. The proposed method offers a new approach to computation, moving beyond classical limitations and exploring the full potential of quantum mechanics.

The Coherence Computing Codex A Technical Treatise on Coheroputation, Coheroputers and Universal Coherence Dynamics

Philip Lilien

Quantum computation relies on superposition, entanglement, and interference—yet terminateseach cycle by collapsing coherence through measurement. This collapse destroys the verycontinuity that powers the universe’s information flow. Coheroputation reverses this paradigm. It computes through coherence, not by breaking it.Information exists as resonant phase differentials within a Λ-field (coherence manifold),maintained through hypergravitational invariance—the foundational symmetry of theuniverse’s coherence fabric. This codex develops the full architecture, mathematics, and thermodynamics of coheroputation. From bivectorial resonance and Λ-manifold computation to Universal Coherence Dynamics, itunifies computation, energy, and ontology through the Principle of Conservation of Coherence. The result is a theoretical foundation for Hypercoherence Processing Units (HPUs), biocoheroputers, and syntelligent systems, offering a path toward energy-neutral computation, curvature coupling, and cosmological information exchange.
