Squeezing of arbitrary order: the ups and downs

K. Górska, A. Horzela, Franciszek Hugon Szafraniec

We show how using classical von Neumann index theory makes possible a universal treatment of squeezing of arbitrary order. ‘Universal’ means that the same approach applied to displacement (order 1) and squeeze (order 2) operators confirms firmly and unequivocally what is already known as well as provides rigorous arguments that the higher order squeezing cannot be generalized in a ‘naive’ way. We create an environment for answering definitely all the emerging questions in positive ( the ups ) and negative ( downs ). In the latter case, we suggest ways for further development.

Quantum Computing and Simulation - A review

Sanjivani Shastri

One of the emerging technologies is quantum computing and its simulation. Quantum mechanics deals with the particles at atomic or subatomic state. Electrons, photons are the examples of it. Thus, quantum physics plays a very important role in quantum computing. Using simple principals of superposition and entanglement quantum computers can do wonders of fast computation which a classical computer cannot. In 1980 Feynman proposed ideal model for computer-based quantum mechanical system and its simulation. This has revolutionised computer difficulties. Since 1982 in a journey of quantum computing, there were many ups and downs. Numerous advances have been made to uncover quantum mechanics. Nowadays there has been a commercial interest because of the performance of quantum computers over classical computers.
