Physical layer security for cooperative communication system with untrusted relay based on jamming signals

This paper investigates the cooperative communication system with untrusted relay using the new scheme that the source transmits the jamming signals and the source signals at the same time. We exploit greedy power allocation algorithm to divide the source power to ensure maximum secrecy capacity. Besides, we analyze the situation that external eavesdropper and untrusted relay exist at the same time. At the end of the paper, BPSK modulation and demodulation scheme is given as an example, and SER is used to estimate the performance of the system. The simulation results show that the scheme can resist both internal and external eavesdropping nodes.

Physical layer security in wireless-powered networks with untrusted relays

Ying Cai, Chao Zhang

In this paper, we study the secrecy performance of a wirelessly powered relay-aided system, where a pair of legal users (source-destination) communicate in the presence of multiple untrusted relays. All of the nodes mentioned above are energy constrained and powered by a dedicated power beacon (PB). To prevent the untrusted relays from intercepting the source message and to achieve positive secrecy rate, the destination-based cooperative jamming technique is employed. Besides, the optimal time allocation coefficient to maximize the secrecy throughput and the optimal transmit power of PB to maximize the secrecy energy efficiency are addressed. Specifically, three relay selection schemes with various requirements for channel state information (CSI), i.e., random relay selection, partial relay selection and optimal relay selection are also proposed to enhance the system security further. Finally, simulation results indicate the cooperative jamming technique indeed achieve positive secrecy rate and the proposed optimization strategies can improve the system performance.

Exploiting Adaptive Jamming in Secure Cooperative NOMA with an Untrusted Relay

Lu Lv, Hai Jiang, Zhiguo Ding +2 more

We study secure communications with an untrusted relay for a cooperative non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) system, where a base station (BS) serves a near user (NU) and a far user (FU) by the NOMA principle, and transmission between BS and FU is aided by an untrusted relay. We propose an adaptive jamming scheme to enhance transmission security, in which FU is asked to adaptively emit a jamming signal to confuse the untrusted relay. The transmission rate for jamming is designed to ensure that only NU can decode the jamming signal correctly, and the jamming power is optimized for maximizing the secrecy sum rate. We analyze the security performance of the proposed scheme and derive the ergodic secrecy sum rate and its scaling law. Simulation results are presented to validate the effectiveness of the proposed adaptive jamming scheme.
