On Boundary Conditions for an Infinite Square-Well Potential in Quantum Mechanics

Ryoichi Seki

A well-known problem of an infinite square-well potential in quantum mechanics furnishes an interesting boundary condition. We investigate this in detail by considering the infinite square-well potential as a limiting case of an finite square-well potential.

Inverse-square potential and the quantum vortex

Hua Wu, Donald W. L. Sprung

The vortex structure of the steady-state probability flow for a general one-particle system in quantum mechanics is introduced and its relationship to the inverse-square potential is discussed. The relationship is made clear by classifying the corresponding solutions of the related classical inverse-square-potential problem.

The Wigner Function for a Quantum System with an Infinitely Deep Square-Well Potential

Shi‐Hai Dong, Guo-Hua Sun, Yu Jiang

The Wigner distribution function for a quantum system with an infinitely deep square-well potential is obtained analytically and presented by plotting the Wigner distribution functions on the quantum phase space. The cross-matrix elements of the expectation values of some classical quantities are also obtained. The case of the symmetrical square-well potential is studied briefly.
