Transport through a one-dimensional quantum dot

T. Kleimann, Maura Sassetti, Gianaurelio Cuniberti +1 more

We examine the effects of long-range interactions in a quantum wire with two impurities. We employ the bosonization technique and derive an effective action for the system. The effect of the long-range interaction on the charging energy and spectral properties of the island formed by the impurities and the linear transport is discussed.

Influences of an impurity on the transport properties of a one-dimensional antisymmetric spin filter

Jaeshin Park, Hyun‐Woo Lee

The influences of an impurity on the spin and the charge transport of a one-dimensional antisymmetric spin filter are investigated using bosonization and Keldysh formulation, and the results are highlighted against those of spinful Luttinger liquids. Due to the dependence of the electron spin orientation on wave number, the spin transport is not affected by the impurity, while the charge transport is essentially identical with that of the spinless one-dimensional Luttinger liquid.

Electrical Resistivity near Pomeranchuk Instability in Two Dimensions

Luca Dell’Anna, Walter Metzner

We analyze the dc charge transport in the quantum critical regime near a d-wave Pomeranchuk instability in two dimensions. The transport decay rate is linear in temperature everywhere on the Fermi surface except at cold spots on the Brillouin zone diagonal. For pure systems, this leads to a dc resistivity proportional to T(3/2) in the low-temperature limit. In the presence of impurities the residual impurity resistance at T=0 is approached linearly at low temperatures.
