Dynamic effects of external axion fields in a system of many particles with spin

Mariya Iv. Trukhanova, Yuri N. Obukhov

We develop the theoretical model that describes dynamic non-equilibrium effects of external inertial and axion fields in a system of particles with spin. The possibility of using the spin density and the current density of non-relativistic quantum particle systems for the detection of the hypothetical axion-like dark matter is discussed. The resulting closed system of dynamic equations encompasses the continuity equation, the momentum balance equation, and the spin density evolution equation, accounting for the influence of the spin-rotation coupling and the external axion fields. The new formalism opens up new perspectives for an experimental search of dark matter axions.

From Quantum to Classical Dissipative Spin Dynamics

Alireza Ataei, Leila Ataei, Olle Eriksson +1 more

The Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert (LLG) equation provides the fundamental description of dissipative magnetization dynamics. A recently proposed quantum analog, the quantum Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert (QLLG) equation, extends this framework to quantum spin systems. However, whether the QLLG equation recovers the LLG equation in the classical large-spin limit for interacting spin systems remains an open question. Here, we demonstrate this connection by deriving the LLG equation as the classical large-spin limit of the QLLG equation. We establish this correspondence analytically and verify it numerically for an interacting spin system. These results provide a quantum-to-classical description of dissipative spin dynamics, offering a microscopic foundation for the LLG equation. From numerical calculations provided here, we also conclude that quantum effects become much less noticeable for systems with larger number of spins in the Hamiltonian.

Dynamics and control of a qubit in spin environment: an exact master equation study

Jun Jing, Lian-Ao Wu

We present an exact master equation for a central spin-$1/2$ system coupled to a spin-$1/2$ bath in terms of hyperfine interaction, which provides a unified formalism for both free evolution and controlled dynamics of the central spin. The equation enables us to study controllability of dynamics processes with various degrees of non-Markovianity. We investigate the Overhauser's effect on decoherence dynamics of the central spin under different bath spectra and the system-bath coupling strengths. Nonperturbative leakage elimination approach is applied to the system to suppress decoherence in solid-state quantum information processing.
