Short-range correlations in bosonic Helium clusters, composed of
4He atoms, are studied utilizing the generalized contact formalism. The emergence of universal
n-body short-range correlations is formulated and demonstrated numerically via Monte Carlo simulations. The values of the
n-particle contacts are evaluated for $n\ensuremath{\le}5$. In the thermodynamic limit, the two-body contact is extracted from available experimental measurements of the static structure factor of liquid
4He at high momenta, and found in a good agreement with the value extracted from our calculations.
Short-range interaction among the spins can not only results in the rich phase diagram but also brings about fascinating phenomenon both in the contexts of quantum computing and information. In this paper, we investigate the quantum correlation of the system coupled to a surrounding environment with short-range anisotropic interaction. It is shown that the decay of quantum correlation of the central spins measured by pairwise entanglement and quantum discord can serve as a signature of quantum phase transition. In addition, we study the decoherence factor of the system when the environment is in the vicinity of the phase transition point. In the strong coupling regime, the decay of the decoherence factor exhibits Gaussian envelop in the time domain. However, in weak coupling limit, the quantum correlation of the system is robust against the disturbance of the magnetic field through optimal control of the anisotropic short-range interaction strength. Based on this, the effects of the short-range anisotropic interaction on the sudden transition from classical to quantum decoherence are also presented.
We consider the transition between short-range entangled (SRE) and long-range entangled states of infinite quantum spin chains which is induced by local measurements. Specifically, we assume that the initial state is in a non-trivial symmetry-protected topological phase of a compact local symmetry group
G. We show that the on-site measurements of an appropriate local charge on intervals of increasing lengths transform the initial SRE state into a family of states with increasingly long-range correlations. In particular, the post-measurement states cannot be uniformly short-range entangled. In the case where the initial state is obtained from a product state using a quantum cellular automaton, we construct the infinite-volume post-measurement state and exhibit almost local observables that are maximally correlated.
