Abstract

In this paper, the object of study is secure transmission and green energy transfer in full-duplex (FD) wireless-powered relay (WPR) secure systems, where an FD relay collects the power from radio-frequency signs and transmits the information in the face of multiple eavesdroppers. In order to improve the efficiency and safety of the contemporaneous wireless energy and information delivery, we propose a joint energy-signal- (ES-) aided secure beamforming and time-switch scheme under the self-power circulation protocol at the relay. The question formulated in this paper is to maximize the confidentiality rate according to energy restrictions at both the relay and energy receiver. As the question is non-salient and hard to resolve directly, we transform it into two sub-problems. For the first sub-problem, a two-level optimization technique is suggested to separately gain the optimal beamforming as well as the ES covariance. The extrinsic rank is a single-variable majorization question, which can be solved by single-dimensional (1D) examination. We attain an optimal solution to the inner level by a semi-definite relaxation (SDR) technique. For the second sub-problem, we again use 1D search to solve this problem. Moreover, we prove that SDR always exists as a level-1 optimal resolution. Mathematical outcomes show that the suggested plan can achieve a considerable gain of confidentiality rate by comparison with other benchmark plans.

Secure Beamforming for Simultaneous Wireless Information and Power Transfer in Wireless-Powered Full-Duplex Relay Networks

Taoshen Li, Peipei Chen, Zhe Wang +1 more

In this paper, we study secure beamforming for simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) in wireless-powered full-duplex (FD) relay networks. The relay assists transmission of confidential information, while simultaneously harvesting the energy with power switching scheme by the radio-frequency (RF) signals. We propose a joint amplify-and-forward beamforming (AB) and energy signal (AB-ES) with the receiver power splitting strategy (PS) scheme to maximize the secrecy rate under harvesting energy constraints. Since these constraints make the optimization problems become non-convex and hard to tackle. We propose a two-level optimization problem to solve this problem. The out part can be solved via the one-Dimensional search, and the inner part can be solved by semidefinite relaxation (SDR) technique. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme outperforms other schemes.

Artificial-noise-aided secure beamforming in full-duplex wireless-powered relay

Myoungjun Ko, Sangseok Yun, Junguk Park +1 more

This paper studies a wireless powered relaying (WPR) system in which a source transmits an information signal to a destination with the help of an energy constrained relay in the presence of an eavesdropper. This work considers a scenario in the full-duplex WPR system where the information transmission/reception and the energy harvesting are performed simultaneously at the relay. We first derive an achievable secrecy rate of the system and formulate a joint optimization problem of artificial-noise-aided secure beamforming to maximize the achievable secrecy rate. Then, an efficient semi-definite relaxation (SDR) based algorithm is proposed to obtain the optimal beamforming. Furthermore, we also propose three suboptimal beamforming but low computational complexity schemes. Comparisons are carried out among the performances of the proposed optimal and suboptimal schemes.

Secure Beamforming and Artificial Noise Design in Full-Duplex Wireless-Powered Relay Networks

This thesis studies secure beamforming for simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) in full-duplex (FD) wireless-powered relay networks, in which the relay operates based on harvested energy from radio-frequency signals. We propose a joint AF beamforming and artificial noise (AB-AN) covariance matrix design with PS strategy to maximize the secrecy rate under harvesting energy constraints at the relay We assume that there is a PS device which splits the received signal power at relay for harvesting energy and receiving information. Since such a problem is nonconvex and hard to tackle, we propose a two-level optimization approach via the one-Dimension search and the semidefinite relaxation (SDR) technique. The proposed scheme is compared with AB scheme. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme outperforms the AB scheme.

Robust Secure Beamforming for Wireless Powered Full-Duplex Systems With Self-Energy Recycling

Wei Qiang Wu, Baoyun Wang, Yong Zeng +3 more

In this paper, we study a multiuser wireless powered communication system, where an energy-constrained full-duplex information transmitter (IT), powered by wireless energy from a dedicated energy transmitter (ET), intends to send confidential information to the information receiver (IR) in the presence of multiple idle users that could be the potential eavesdroppers. In the practical scenario of imperfect channel state information and assuming that the idle users need to harvest energy from the ET, we aim to maximize the worst-case secrecy rate at the IR by jointly optimizing the transmit covariance matrix at the ET as well as the information beamforming and artificial noise covariance at the IT, subject to their individual transmit power constraints and the minimum required power transferred to the idle users. We employ the semidefinite relaxation (SDR) and extended S-procedure approaches to transform the original nonconvex optimization problem into convex problem, which can be efficiently solved by solving a sequence of semidefinite programs. Furthermore, we show that the SDR is tight since there always exists a rank-one optimal solution. For performance comparison, two heuristic schemes for ease of implementation are also developed. Numerical results are presented to show the effectiveness of our proposed schemes.

Wireless-Powered Secure Transmission with Full-Duplex Relay and Imperfect Eavesdropper CSI

Zheng Wang, Jingping Qiao, Anming Dong +2 more

This paper focuses on information security in an energy harvesting relay system, in which confidential signals are transmitted from a source node to its desired destination with the assistance of one full-duplex (FD) relay. To empower simultaneous wireless information and power transfer, the time-switching (TS) protocol is embraced and the energy-limited FD relay node is powered by energy signals emitted by the source node. With the obtained statistical eavesdropper channel state information (CSI), the ergodic secrecy rate and its approximate expression are derived. As the objective is maximizing the ergodic secrecy rate performance, source beamformers, TS coefficient and the power control factor at FD relay are jointly optimized. To tackle the framed non-convex problem, an alternative method is hence proposed, and closed-form solutions for beamformers, TS coefficient and power control factor are derived iteratively. Besides, the convergence of our proposed algorithm can be guaranteed and is also theoretically proved. Simulation results demonstrate that our iterative algorithm is effective and improves the system secrecy rate considerably.

Secure Transmission and Self-Energy Recycling With Partial Eavesdropper CSI

Jingping Qiao, Haixia Zhang, Feng Zhao +1 more

This paper focuses on the secure transmission of wireless-powered relay systems with the imperfect eavesdropper channel state information. For efficient energy transfer and information relaying, a novel two-phase protocol is proposed, in which the relay operates in a full-duplex (FD) mode to achieve the simultaneous wireless power and information transmission. Compared with those existing protocols, the proposed design possesses two main advantages: 1) it fully exploits the available hardware resource (antenna element) of relay and can offer a higher secrecy rate and 2) it enables the self-energy recycling (S-ER) at relay, in which the loopback interference generated by the FD operation is harvested and reused for information relaying. To maximize the worst-case secrecy rate (WCSR) through jointly designing the source and relay beamformers coupled with the power allocation ratio, an optimization problem is formulated. This formulated problem is proved to be non-convex and the challenge to solve it is how to concurrently solve out the beamformers and the power allocation ratio. To cope with this difficulty, an alternative approach is proposed by converting the original problem into three subproblems. By solving these subproblems iteratively, the closed-form solutions of robust beamformers and power allocation ratio for the original problem are achieved. Simulations are done and results reveal that the proposed S-ER -based secure transmission scheme outperforms the traditional time-switching based relaying scheme at a maximum WCSR gain of 80%. Results also demonstrate that the WCSR performance of the scheme reusing all antennas for information reception is much better than that of schemes exploiting only one antenna.
