Generation of N-qubit cluster states via nonresonant cavity and classical field

Ye Liu

A simple experimental scheme to generate N-qubit atom cluster states is proposed. The task can be realized through the interaction between two three-level atoms within a nonresonant cavity and meanwhile driven by a classical field.During the interaction time, the cavity field is only virtually excited, and no quantum information transfer between the atoms and the cavity is required. The scheme is implemented without any measurement.Time of implemenation of the protocol does not change with the increase of the number of qubits. Our scheme can be realized under current technology.

Cooperative fluorescence by three-level atoms in a strong excitation field

Helen S. Freedhoff

When a system of two-level atoms interacts with a very intense field, the phenomena associated with superradiance do not appear in the fluorescent radiation. The question has been raised, "Can pumping by an intense field inhibit the occurrence of superradiance in the fluorescence of a system of three-level atoms to the third (nonresonant) level?" In this paper, we calculate the fluorescence spectrum of 2 three-level atoms. We find that superradiance, while absent in that part of the radiation corresponding to resonance fluoresence, is present in the radiation to the nonresonant level.

Nonlinear two-photon interaction of radiators with broadband squeezed vacuum

N. A. Enaki

The resonance two-photon interaction of the broadband squeezed vacuum with the dipole-forbidden two-level atoms via nonresonant virtual levels is investigated. It is demonstrated that the broadband squeezed vacuum excites coherently the system of radiators (atoms, molecules) that have dipole-forbidden transitions. The quantum statistics of the generated photon pairs in the process of resonance fluorescence is analyzed. As the broadband squeezed field is amplitude-squared squeezed the interaction of this field with the dipole-forbidden atoms can contribute in further amplitude-squared squeezing. In the high-field limit this squeezing increases when the atom number also increases.
