Abstract

There are no conclusive grounds for the light barrier and for the ban stipulated by it on superluminal signals. Physical laws do not impose any restrictions upon velocity of information transfer. The special theory of relativity imposes a ban merely on the velocity of motion of material bodies and on the energy transfer with velocity greater than that of light in vacuum. The own field of electrically charged particles is shown to be capable of instantaneously transmitting a signal (information) about any changes occurring with particle to arbitrarily great distances. The existence of superluminal signals, transmitted by the own fields of electrically charged particles, rigorously follows from Maxwell’s equations for electromagnetic field. Physical mechanism of appearance of superluminal signals is due to the non-local connection between potentials and intensities of electric and magnetic fields. The field of potentials acts as an informational field capable of transmitting information with superluminal speed without transferring energy. In quantum systems, the superluminal signals occur at every step, in any quantum processes.

Information Field and Superluminal Communication

Valentine P. Oleinik

The field of scalar and vector potentials in electrodynamics is shown to represent an informational field capable of superluminally transmitting a signal (information) with no energy and momentum transfer. This conclusion strictly follows from Maxwell's equations for electromagnetic field interacting with electric charges and currents in vacuum, without resort to any additional hypotheses. That superluminal communication is possible is seen from the fact that the own field, generated by particles and inseparable from them, transforms the environment into a special physical medium which is capable to instantaneously transfer a signal (information) about any changes, happening to a particle in the region of its basic localization, to arbitrarily large distances. The phenomenon of superluminal communication is caused by the non-local connection of scalar and vector potentials with the electric and magnetic field strengths. The basis for the mechanism of superluminal communication considered in this work is the Aharonov-Bohm effect indicative of the field of electromagnetic potentials as a real physical field, which directly influences the behaviour of electron waves. The conclusion is made that in quantum systems superluminal signals occur constantly, in any quantum processes. The occurrence of superluminal signals is due to the space-time symmetry breaking of a special kind, consisting in that the equations for potentials do not possess relativistic invariance though Maxwell's equations for the field strengths are Lorentz-invariant. The results presented do not contradict the physical principles underlying special relativity and confirm the fundamental conclusion, made for the first time by de Broglie, that gauge invariance is not an absolute law in physics

(Faster Than Light Quantino)

P V Putenikhin

It is possible transmission of signals faster than light. Such a conclusion necessarily follows from a logical analysis of certain well-known physical phenomenas that are undisputed, recognized repeatedly proven experimental confirmation. This means that modern physics does not reject possibility of creating not only a superluminal the telegraph (radio, television, communication), but does not reject also matter's teleportation, ie transfer (transport) of material bodies in space, bypassing intermediate points. It is believed, that special relativity does not forbid motion faster than light. This is a misconception. Communication faster than light, tachyon - are incompatible with special relativity and with Lorentz-invariance. After collapse of wave function of entangled particles is transmitted quantum information faster than light. Only material carriers can produce transfer of information. Such carrier quantum information may be named quantino.

Evanescent Modes and Tunnelling Instantaneously Act at a Distance

Günter Nimtz, A. A. Stahlhofen, Alfredo Macı́as +2 more

Photonic tunnelling experiments have shown that i) the Einstein energy relation is violated, ii) the tunnelling process is non‐local, iii) the signal velocity is faster than light, i.e. superluminal, iv) the tunnelling signal is not observable, since photonic tunnelling is described by virtual photons, and v) according to the experimental results the signal velocity is infinite inside the barriers, implying that tunnelling instantaneously acts at a distance. We think these properties are not compatible with the claims of many text books on Special Relativity, see for instance Refs. [1].

On the Principle of Causality and Superluminal Signal Propagation Velocities

Nikolai S. Bukhman

Abstract This paper considers the question of superluminal (or negative) group velocities of signals in dispersive media, as well as negative group delay times of signals passing through linear filters. It is shown that information can be transmitted only with the help of jumps in the time dependence of a function or its derivatives and, therefore, the information propagation velocity in any (including dispersive, absorbing, or amplifying) medium exactly coincides with the speed of light in vacuum. As for the group velocity of a wave packet, it is only the propagation velocity of its infinitely differentiable envelope, by means of which the transmission of information, strictly speaking, is impossible. Therefore, in regions with anomalous dispersion, the group velocity can be superluminal or negative without violating the “light limitation” of the theory of relativity or the principle of causality. Examples of situations in which superluminal or negative group velocity occurs are given.

(Measuring the Speed of a Tachyon)

P V Putenikhin

It is proposed a physical experiment to determine the speed of propagation of quantum information of the collapse of the wave function of entangled photons. To transfer the information need the carrier. Because the speed of the carrier faster than light, this role can perform the tachyon. The superluminal carrier of quantum information is not Lorentz invariant, it is incompatible with the mathematics of the theory of relativity. In connection with this I propose option experiment to determine the rate of transfer of information on the state of entangled particles in the fixed installation within a fixed reference system. In this case, the question of invariance does not rise at all, and no need to use mathematics of the special theory of relativity. В.

Quantum Entanglement and Superluminal Particles: Preservation of Causality under Relativistic Constraints

Hasan Efe Karabulut

Two statements in physics are frequently conflated: that nothing can travel faster than light, and that two entangled particles behave as if "instantaneously" connected regardless of their separation. This paper addresses both questions together: whether a faster-than-light particle could exist and, if so, whether it would count as matter; and whether quantum entanglement actually violates the light-speed limit. Starting from the energy–velocity relation of special relativity, it is shown that massive particles cannot reach the speed of light, and the properties of hypothetical tachyons (imaginary mass, absence of a rest frame and violation of causality) are examined. Using the singlet state, the non-separability, reduced state and correlation properties of entanglement are derived, and the quantum violation of the CHSH inequality up to 2√2 is computed. Finally, via the no-signaling theorem, it is shown that entanglement produces non-local correlations without permitting superluminal communication. In conclusion, nature accommodates non-local correlations without allowing any object to travel faster than light.
