Atom Interferometry via Raman Chirped Adiabatic Passage

Practical atom interferometric sensors may benefit from robust atom optics based on Raman chirped adiabatic passage (RCAP). We demonstrate coherent transfer and interference using RCAP, and discuss expected enhancement of interferometer stability.

Photonic transport via chirped adiabatic passage in optical waveguides

Stefano Longhi

We propose a novel transport scheme for light waves in a triple-well optical system which mimics the technique of Raman chirped adiabatic passage (RCAP) for population transfer in three-level atomic or molecular systems driven by linearly chirped laser pulses. The optical analogue of atomic RCAP is realized using three tunnelling-coupled and cubically bent optical waveguides, and enables an almost complete light transfer between the outer waveguides with negligible excitation of the middle waveguide.

Chirped-light-field atomic-beam splitter for atom interferometry

Y. B. Band

I propose a coherent atomic-beam splitter that can be used for atom interferometry. Chirped adiabatic passage between states of the atoms of the atomic beam is employed as they pass through a standing-wave radiation field to split coherently the atomic beam.
