Quantum key distribution protocol of mesh network structure based on n + 1 EPR pairs

Jian Tao Dong, Jianfu Teng

Quantum key distribution (QKD) is used in quantum cryptographic systems to exchange secret key between parties who need to communicate secretly. According to the structure of European Secoqc QKD network, a QKD protocol is proposed. Entanglement swapping between Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen (EPR) pairs can be used to exchange message bits in two remote places. Based on this idea, n + 1 EPR pairs are used as logical quantum channel (for n nodes per routing), while measurements of Bell operator are transmitted by classical channel. Random space quantum channel selection is exploited in our protocol to improve the probability of revealing Eve. Compared with traditional EPR protocol, the proposed protocol exhibits many features, which are minutely described.

Wireless quantum communication networks with mesh structure

Yang Cao, Xutao Yu, Youxun Cai

In distributed wireless quantum communication networks, because of the storage of the clients, the EPR pairs are important resources. The lack of EPR pairs limits the size of networks. Besides, to accomplish quantum teleportation, both classical and quantum information need to be transmitted. We may have difficulty in building classical and quantum channels at the same time. To solve these problems, we introduce mesh structure into wireless quantum communication. The distributed wireless quantum networks can be improved by this mesh structure we proposed. Moreover, a quantum routing protocol based on quantum relay mechanism is proposed in this mesh structure.

Building QKD Networks Based On a Novel QKD Scheme

Fang Song, Liusheng Huang, Wei Yang +1 more

We present a new quantum key distribution (QKD) scheme using EPR pairs and Bell state measurement, accompanied by quantum one-way function. The security of our scheme derives from BB84 protocol, and several other features make our QKD scheme fairly suitable for QKD network designs. So we then apply a modified version of our QKD scheme to construct a QKD network, allowing secure key distribution among any users within the network efficiently.
