Transfer of correlations from squeezed states of radiation to atoms in a generalized Jaynes-Cummings model

Donita Cohen, Y. Ben-Aryeh, A. Mann

The correlations between two atoms in a generalized two-mode Jaynes-Cummings model (JCM), in the presence of a two-mode squeezed state, are studied. It is found that for a small amount of initial squeezing the correlations go back and forth between the radiation and the atoms. For large initial squeezing the atoms are found to be highly correlated at all times, while the squeezing of the radiation is destroyed as a function of time. In addition, the squeezing of the field is studied in the two-mode JCM and is compared to the one-mode squeezing that is obtained for the ordinary JCM. It is found that in the two-mode model the squeezing is preserved for longer times under the condition that ${\mathit{g}}_{1}$ and ${\mathit{g}}_{2}$ (the two coupling constants) are almost equal.

Generalized Jaynes-Cummings models with a time-dependent atom-field coupling

Amitabh Joshi, S. V. Lawande

An extension of the standard one-photon as well as the two-photon Jaynes-Cummings (JC) model has been done to include transient effects due to a modulation of the atom-field coupling coefficient. An explicit time dependence is given for the case of a linear sweep of the coupling parameter. We have shown the effects of such a sweep on the dynamical evolution of a two-level atom undergoing a one- or two-photon process in a single nondecaying mode of the field in a coherent state. The statistical aspects of the field, such as intensity-intensity correlation and squeezing, are also investigated and are found to be both qualitatively as well as quantitatively different from the standard JC models.

The Physical Spectrum of a Driven Jaynes–Cummings Model

L. Medina-Dozal, Alejandro R. Urzúa, I. Ramos-Prieto +4 more

We analyze the time-dependent physical spectrum of a driven Jaynes-Cummings model in which both the two-level system and the quantized cavity mode are subject to coherent classical driving. The time-dependent Hamiltonian is mapped, via well-defined unitary transformations, onto an effective stationary Jaynes-Cummings form. Within this framework, we derive closed-form expressions for the two-time correlation functions of both the atomic and field operators. These correlation functions are subsequently used to evaluate the time-dependent physical spectrum according to the Eberly-Wódkiewicz definition, which properly accounts for finite spectral resolution and transient emission dynamics. We show that the external driving leads to substantial modifications of the atomic spectral response, including controllable frequency shifts and asymmetric line shapes. Importantly, we identify a regime in which the driving parameters are chosen such that the coherent displacement induced in the cavity field exactly cancels out the initial coherent amplitude. In this limit, the system dynamics reduce to that of an effectively vacuum-initialized Jaynes-Cummings model, and the standard vacuum Rabi splitting is recovered. This behavior provides a clear and physically transparent interpretation of the spectral features as arising from coherent field displacement rather than from modifications of the underlying atom-cavity coupling.
