Abstract Since the concept of quantum entanglement was proposed, quantum entanglement has been paid more and more attention. Especially in recent years, with the interdisciplinary and interdisciplinary development of quantum informatics, the general definition, physical properties and entanglement measurement of quantum entanglement have been comprehensively and deeply studied. Due to its nonlocality, quantum entanglement has been widely used in quantum information, especially in quantum communication. In view of the application status of quantum entanglement in quantum communication, this paper presents a survey of quantum entanglement and its application in quantum communication. In this paper, 230 staff members from 15 Chinese companies involved in quantum communication are selected as the investigation samples, and the proportion of quantum entanglement in the application is obtained, which can promote the quantum communication. The capacity, speed and security of quantum entanglement and ordinary quantum in the application of quantum communication are compared. Through the analysis, it is concluded that each index of quantum entanglement is conducive to the development of quantum communication. Quantum entanglement provides a technical guarantee for the research of quantum communication.

With the emergence of Quantum mechanics arrived the prospect of further development in technology. New areas of research and development came into the picture, one of them being Quantum communication. In 1991, the first protocol of Quantum cryptography and quantum non-duality attracted physicists, mathematicians, and computer scientists to explore the mysterious ways of the quantum world. Since then, quantum communication has evolved to an astonishing extent. Ultra-high-speed internet, computational power, optimization, and security have paved the way for innumerable possibilities ahead. This survey intends to investigate the concepts and applications of quantum communication. In this review article, we try to give an idea of quantum communication background by shedding light on polarization and entanglement, following which, we give a brief survey of its applications such as quantum teleportation, quantum key distribution, secure direct communication, and quantum memories. The study concludes with a discussion on the future outlook of this emerging paradigm.
Abstract Quantum communication has made great breakthroughs in recent years. Because of its characteristics for strict information security transmission and high speed, it has received attention from related research fields around the world. This paper briefly reviews the progress in the field of quantum computing and communication. The basic functions of quantum mechanics related to the quantum communication are first introduced, including qubit, logic gates, postulates, polarization and quantum entanglement. Then the applications of quantum communication are discussed including teleportation, cryptography and quantum networks. Finally, advantages and disadvantages for the current applications are analyzed and the challenges remained in the current research are demonstrated.
Quantum communication as a vital branch of quantum information science, leverages physical properties such as quantum superposition, entanglement, and the impossibility of cloning to pioneer entirely new technical pathways for achieving unconditional secure communication. This paper comprehensively and meticulously elucidates the core technological principles of quantum communication, including quantum key distribution, quantum teleportation, and quantum secure direct communication; It also delves into its application status in critical domains such as dedicated communications, finance, and government affairs. Furthermore, it analyzes the numerous technical challenges currently faced, including the stability of quantum bits, limitations on communication distance, and difficulties in standardization. Finally, it offers a prospective outlook on its future development trends. Research indicates that quantum communication technology is progressively transitioning from the laboratory to large-scale application stages, with its integration into existing communication systems and strategic value in national security domains becoming increasingly prominent.
Entanglement distribution is a fundamental building block of quantum communication networks, enabling the secure and reliable exchange of quantum information over long distances. Unlike classical communication, quantum networks exploit the unique properties of quantum entanglement to support applications such as quantum key distribution, quantum teleportation, distributed quantum computing, and networked quantum sensing. Although significant progress has been made in recent years, the efficient generation, transmission, and preservation of entangled states remain major research challenges due to photon loss, decoherence, and limitations in current communication infrastructure. This review provides a comprehensive overview of entanglement distribution in quantum communication networks, focusing on the technologies that enable practical implementation and the latest experimental developments. It discusses key approaches for generating and distributing entangled photons through optical fibers, free-space links, and satellite-based communication, together with supporting technologies such as quantum repeaters, quantum memories, and photonic devices. The review also examines recent experimental demonstrations that have advanced long-distance quantum communication while highlighting the technical barriers that must be overcome for large-scale deployment. Finally, emerging applications and future research directions are presented, including the development of scalable quantum networks, the quantum internet, and secure global communication systems. This review aims to provide researchers and students with a clear understanding of the current state of entanglement distribution and its growing role in next-generation quantum communication technologies.

Based on the analysis, quantum communication technology research hotspots mainly involve quantum key distribution, quantum confidential communication, quantum invisible transmission, quantum entanglement, quantum cryptography, etc., which exhibits an increasingly rich trend. In addition, the limitations of the quantum communication are demonstrated from the perspective of practical applications. Afterwards, the future prospects of quantum communication technology are proposed accordingly. These results reveal that quantum communication applications are promising and are moving toward practicality.
As the established communication networks no longer meet people’s need in the speed and the security in transferring information, quantum communication draws people’s attention. Taking advantage of the basic quantum properties, quantum communication guarantees the message being delivered promptly and safely. This paper first introduces a general background quantum communication. After that, we introduced the history of the development of quantum communication and Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) as well as the general flow of quantum communication. Based on that, we evaluated a scheme of quantum communication network based on QKD, proposing different methods to improve the security and efficiency of the transmission of information. We encapsulated the history of the development of QKD. We conclude that the improvement of quantum communication depends on the algorithms. While various algorithms are proposed, we discussed a potentially possible way to combine the advantages of the algorithms. However, the actual effectiveness of our method still needs to be testified in future researches.
