Spatial effects in squeezed states of light beams under parametric amplification conditions

А. В. Белинский, Anatolii S Chirkin

A theory of the generation of optical fields in a squeezed state by parametric interaction of beams undergoing diffraction is developed. Problems related to the diffraction of a signal wave are considered and allowance for the fact that the pump wave is bounded in space. The reasons for reduction in the squeezing effect efficiency are identified and the conditions for the attainment of the maximum squeezing are found.

Squeezed states in the case of parametric amplification in diffracted light beams

Sergei A. Akhmanov, А. В. Белинский, Anatolii S Chirkin

A theory of generation of squeezed states of an optical field is developed for parametric interactions of diffracted beams. It is shown that diffraction results in degradation of the squeezing process. Systems for the formation of beams that can compensate for this effect are considered.

Effects of higher-order spatial modes on the squeezing level in optical parametric amplification with waveguides

Yuki Sano, Yoshitaka Taguchi, Kenichi Oguchi +1 more

We investigate a limiting factor of waveguide optical parametric amplifiers used for generating broadband squeezed light. We found that spatially non-degenerate optical parametric amplification (OPA) between the fundamental modes and the higher-order modes generates noise, and that this effect can be avoided by detecting the squeezed light with the optimal spatial mode. The analysis is conducted assuming the waveguides with different dimensions, offering valuable insight into the waveguide design for squeezing.
