Abstract

We have studied the statistical and squeezing properties of the Two-mode squeezed thermal light. We have calculated the mean of the photon number sum and difference, the variance of the photon number sum and difference, second order correlation function, the quadrature variance and quadrature squeezing, employing the Q function. We have found that the mean of the photon number sum for the two-mode squeezed thermal light is the sum of the means of the photon number sum of the separate modes and the photon statistic is super Poissonian. And the photon number of a two-mode squeezed thermal light is correlated and we have seen that the two-mode squeezed thermal light exhibiting the photon bunching effect. Moreover, the quadrature variance of the two-mode squeezed thermal light turns out to be the product of the quadrature variances of the two-mode thermal and two-mode squeezed vacuum states. The squeezing increase with increasing the squeeze parameter and with decreasing the mean photon number of thermal light. DOI: 10.7176/JNSR/11-23-01 Publication date: December 31 st 2020

Lambda-type Three-Level Laser Coupled to Squeezed Vacuum Reservoir

Takele Teshome, Gomera Biyazn, Misrak Gatahun

The squeezing, entanglement, and statistical properties of light produced by lambda-type three-level laser coupled to squeezed vacuum reservoir have been studied. We have determined the quadrature variances mean as well as variance photon number photon for cavity modes with the aid of the solutions of c-number Langevin equations associated with the normal order. The results show that the light produced by the system under consideration in squeezed state. The squeezed vacuum reservoir enhances both the quadrature squeezing and mean photon numbers. In addition, the mean photon number of mode b is greater than that of a if more atoms injected with state |a>. We have calculated the quadrature variances of the cavity modes, the result shows that the light produced by the system under consideration is in squeezed state and the squeezing occurs in the minus quadrature. The result also shows that the effect of the squeezed vacuum reservoir is not only enhancing the degree of squeezing for the light modes but also to generate the photons for the system under consideration. The system produce entangled two mode light that increase with η and linear gain coefficient but decrease with squeezing parameters. The correlation function of the two modes decreases as η, the linear gain coefficient and increase with squeezing parameter.

Quantum Nature of Light in Displaced Squeezed Chaotic State

Sitotaw Eshete

In this work the squeezing and statistical properties for single-mode displaced squeezed chaotic state is analyzed with the help of the density operator for a single-mode light. It is found that the effect of the thermal light is to reduce the quadrature squeezing but increases the mean photon number.According to the generated results of analyzing the quadrature squeezing, the system has 98.17% of squeezing (in squeezed state) in which the system initial to be in vacuum state (no photon at all) and occurs at the squeeze parameter ( = 2).In addition, the squeeze parameter enhances both the quadrature squeezing and the mean photon number.

Electrically Pumped Two-Mode Laser Dynamics

M. Molla Gessesse

The statistical and squeezing properties of the cavity light produced by a three-level laser are studied. In the laser, N three-level atoms in an open cavity are coupled with a two-mode vacuum reservoir and are pumped to the top level by means of the electron bombardment. Applying the steady-state solutions of the equations of evolution of the expectation values of the atomic operators and the quantum Langevin equations for the cavity mode operators, we have obtained the global and local photon statistics for single-mode cavity light beams and for two-mode cavity light. It is found that the global mean photon number and the global photon-number variance of the light emitted from the top are greater than those for the light emitted from intermediate level. The cavity lights emitted from the top and intermediate levels can be separately in a chaotic state under certain conditions. However, the two-mode cavity light is in a squeezed state under certain conditions. We have established that the maximum quadrature squeezing of the two-mode cavity light to be about 46% below the coherent-state level. The presence of the vacuum reservoir noise has the effect of increasing the photon-number variance and decreasing the quadrature squeezing of the cavity light but has no effect on the mean photon number. We have shown that the local mean photon number and photon number variance of the cavity light approach the global mean photon number and photon number variance of the cavity light as the frequency interval increases.

Quantum-statistical properties of two coupled modes of electromagnetic field

S. Kalmykov, M. E. Veĭsman

Squeezing the quantum fluctuations of the two-mode light due to the nonstationary coupling between the quadrature components ${q}_{1}$ and ${q}_{2}$ is examined. The \ensuremath{\delta}- and step-function mode couplings are considered. The conditions of weak and strong step-function coupling are distinguished, the latter being the condition of the instability for the classical counterpart of the quantum system under study. Under the conditions of weak coupling the quadrature squeezing is established in both a two-mode electromagnetic noise in thermal equilibrium (the thermal state) and a two-mode correlated coherent state (CCS). Squeezing in the thermal state is suppressed at a high temperature. The photon distribution function (PDF) in the thermal state reveals oscillatory behavior for both high and low temperature, the oscillations decrease while the temperature increases. The PDF in the CCS can be either oscillatory or smooth, whereas the photon statistics is essentially non-Poissonian. The nonclassical intermode photon-number correlations in the CCS are briefly studied.

Two-mode subharmonic generating system with coherent and thermal light

Lemma Tirfie Zegbreal, Deribe Hirpo

Abstract The statistical and squeezing characteristics of the light generated by a two-mode subharmonic generating system in a cavity pumped by two-mode coherent light and coupled to a two-mode thermal reservoir through a singleport mirror have been studied in this study. We construct the c-number Langevin equations linked to the normal ordering using the master equation for the system under discussion, and we establish the correlation characteristics of the noise forces. The mean and variance of the photon number of the cavity light are then determined using the solutions of the resulting differential equations. We have discovered that the cavity light mode’s photon statistics are super-Poissonian because the variance of the photon number is more significant than the mean of the photon number. Additionally, using the same solutions, we were able to extract the antinormally ordered characteristic function, which is used to calculate the Q function. In addition, the photon number distribution for the cavity mode is computed using the Q function. The variance of the plus and minus quadrature of the two-mode cavity light generated by the two-mode subharmonic generating system is also obtained. It is discovered that the cavity mode’s squeezing characteristics are unaffected by the two-mode driving coherent light, however, the thermal light has the effect of decreasing the squeezing of the cavity light and the squeezing takes place in the plus quadrature. Finally, we discovered that when the cavity is coupled to a vacuum reservoir, there is a 50 % maximum squeezing of the two-mode cavity at a steady state and at the threshold. The nondegenerate subharmonic generator generates a two-mode cavity light that is 50 % entangled.
