Quantum correlation dynamics of two two-level atoms in common environment

Abstract

By exactly solving the model of two two-level atoms with dipole-dipole interaction, interacting with a common environment, quantum entanglement and quantum discord of two atoms are obtained. In this paper, the influences of the non-Markovian effect of environment, the dipole-dipole interaction of two atoms and the detunings of the central frequency of the cavity and the transition frequency of the atoms on quantum entanglement and quantum discord dynamics of two atoms are comprehensively considered. The study shows that in the non-Markovian regime and the resonant case, if two atoms are initially in the entangled state, the damping of quantum entanglement and quantum discord will be remarkably suppressed. More specially, in the off-resonant case, the disentanglement time of the two atoms can be considerably prolonged. On the other hand, if two atoms are initially in the separable state, the dipole-dipole interaction can enhance the amplitude of oscillations of quantum entanglement and quantum discord in a short time, but the steady values of quantum entanglement and quantum discord cannot be changed by the dipole-dipole interaction in the long-time limit. Finally, the different influences of the dipole-dipole interaction on quantum entanglement and quantum discord also are discussed.

Effect of the dipole-dipole interaction for two atoms with different couplings in a non-Markovian environment

Li Yang, Jiang Zhou, Hong Mei Guo

Using a nonperturbative method, we study the exact entanglement dynamics of two two-level dipole-dipole interacting atoms coupled to a common non-Markovian reservoir with different coupling strengths. Besides analyzing the conditions for the existence of a steady state, we find that, although the dipole-dipole interaction could destroy the stationary entanglement, a relatively strong dipole-dipole interaction does suppress disentanglement in the initial period of time. These results are helpful for the practical engineering of entanglement in the future.

The Study of Dynamics Properties of Entanglement of Two Interacting Atoms Coupled to Markovion and Non-Markovion Environment

Liao Qing-hon

The entanglement dynamics of two interacting qubits under the influence of Markovian environment and non-Markovian environment was examined by making use of the linear entropy. The effect of the strength of the dipole-dipole interaction and the detuning between the transition frequency of the atom and the center frequency of the reservoir on the time evolution of entanglement was discussed. It is shown that linear entropy decreases with the increase of the strength of the dipole-dipole interaction and the detuning between the transition frequency of the atom and the center frequency of the reservoir.Linear entropy tends to steady state within a short time in the Markovian environment, but in the nonMarkovian environment linear entropy shows oscillatory behavior with the time evolution.

Quantum correlation dynamics of two qubits in independent reservoirs with initial system-reservoir correlations

Xin-Ping Ma, Yue Sun, Jin‐Liang Guo

Abstract The dynamics of entanglement and quantum discord (QD) between two two-level atoms interacting with two dissipative coupled cavities in the presence of initial atom-cavity correlations is investigated. In comparison with the result of the initial factorized state, we show that the initial state contained quantum correlation of atom-cavity is most robust against the dissipative environment, and the initial atom-cavity correlations, especially the quantum correlation, play a constructive role in the generation of atomic entanglement and QD. Simultaneously, the comparison between Markovian and non-Markovian dynamics, and the influences of inter-cavity hopping rate are also taken into account and analyzed.

Quantum Discord Dynamics in Two Different Non-Markovian Reservoirs

Bang-Fu Ding, Xiao-Yun Wang, Jing-Feng Liu +2 more

The quantum discord dynamics of two non-coupled two-level atoms independently interacting with their reservoir is studied under two kinds of non-Markovian conditions, namely, an off-resonant case with atomic transition frequency and a photonic band gap. In the first case, the phenomenon of the quantum discord loss and the oscillatory behavior of the quantum discord can occur by changing the detuning quantity and reducing the spectral coupling width for any initial Bell state. Under the second condition, the trapping phenomenon of the quantum discord can be presented by adjusting the width of gap, that is, the quantum discord of two atoms keep a nonzero constant for a long time.

Quantum correlations between two non-interacting atoms under the influence of a thermal environment

Yao-Hua Hu, Junqiang Wang

By considering a double Jaynes—Cummings model, we investigate the dynamics of quantum correlations, such as the quantum discord and the entanglement, for two atoms in their respective noisy environments, and study the effect of the purity and the cavity temperature on the quantum correlations. The results show that the entanglement suffers sudden death and revival, however the quantum discord can still reveal the quantum correlations between the two atoms in the region where the entanglement is zero. Moreover, when the temperature of each cavity is high the entanglement dies out in a short time, but the quantum discord still survives for quite a long time. It means that the quantum discord is more resistant to environmental disturbance than the entanglement at higher temperatures.

Quantum correlation dynamics of three non-coupled two-level atoms in different reservoirs

Xiao-Yun Wang, Bang-Fu Ding, Heping Zhao

Time evolution dynamics of three non-coupled two-level atoms independently interacting with their reservoirs is solved exactly by considering a damping Lorentzian spectral density. For three atoms initially prepared in Greenberger—Horne—Zeilinger-type state, quantum correlation dynamics in a Markovian reservoir is compared with that in a non-Markovian reservoir. By increasing detuning quantity in the non-Markovian reservoir, three-atom correlation dynamics measured by negative eigenvalue presents a trapping phenomenon which provides long-time quantum entanglement. Then we compare the correlation dynamics of three atoms with that of two atoms, measured by quantum entanglement and quantum discord for an initial robuster-entangled type state. The result further confirms that quantum discord is indeed different from quantum entanglement in identifying quantum correlation of many bodies.
