Abstract

Considering the time-dependent interspecies interactions, we study the dynamic behaviors of bright-bright solitons in two species Bose-Einstein condensates in the harmonic external potentials. In the presence of unchanged attractive interspecies and intraspecies interactions, bright-bright solitons exhibit periodic oscillations. When the attractive intraspecies interactions are fixed but the attractive interspecies interactions are increased exponentially, interestingly, a transition behavior from oscillation to localization is observed. Meanwhile, this transition behavior can be controlled by tuning the transverse trapping frequency of harmonic potential. Furthermore, an experimental protocol is designed to observe the transition behavior in the current experimental conditions.

Transformation of vector solitons in twospecies Bose-Einstein condensates

Considering the interspecies and intraspecies interactions as being repulsive, we study the dynamic behaviors of the gray-gray and black-black solitons in two-species Bose-Einstein condensates trapped in the harmonic external potentials. The results show that in the absence of the axial trapping frequencies, both the gray-gray and black-black solitons can keep localization stable. In the presence of the axial trapping frequencies, the gray-gray can be converted into bright-bright solitons.

Reflection-Transmission Transition of Bright-Bright Solitons Collision in Two Species Condensates with Repulsive Interspecies Interactions

Zhang-Ming He, Dong-Long Wang, Jian-Wen Ding +1 more

Considering repulsive interspecies interactions, we study the dynamical properties of bright-bright solitons in two species Bose—Einstein condensates by using a variational approach combined with numerical simulation. It is shown that the interactions between bright-bright solitons vary from repulsive to attractive interactions with the increasing their separating distances, and at equilibrium position the bright-bright solitons are localized. Interestingly, a transition from reflection- to transmission-collision is firstly observed, different from previous results of only reflection collision appearing there. These results will be helpful for the experimental manipulating such solitons.

The dynamics of a bright-bright vector soliton in a cigar-shaped Bose-Einstein condensate trapping in a harmonic potential is studied. The interaction between bright solitons in different species with small separation is derived.Unlike the interaction between solitons of the same species,it is independent of the phase difference between solitons. It may be of attraction or repulsion. In the former case, each soliton will oscillate about and pass through each other around the mass-center of the system, which will also oscillate harmonically due to the harmonic trapping potential.

Oscillation and fission behavior of bright-bright solitons in two-species Bose-Einstein condensates trapped in an optical potential

He Zhang-Ming, Zhiqiang Zhang, Zhu Shan-Hua +1 more

We have studied the dynamic behavior of bright-bright solitons in two-species Bose-Einstein condensates trapped in an optical lattice. It is shown that the directions of motion and oscillations of the bright-bright solitons can be effectively controlled by adjusting the lattice spacing and height, respectively. Especially, two separated solitons can be localized in the optical lattice, and the fission of each localized soliton is newly observed due to the increase of the lattice height.
