Abstract

The optimal relay path calculation and selection are important factors to affect the performance of quantum communication network. Current researches seldom consider the quantum path selection in real noisy environments. One of the difficult problems is how to analyze the influence of the noise on the quantum communication in multi-hop channels. This paper aims to solve the path selection problem of the quantum teleportation network in noisy environments. The process of entanglement swapping in the phase damping channel is first studied with an example of two-hop quantum channel, whose damping factors are p1 and p2. The entanglement states |φ> 12+ and |φ> 34+ are distributed separately in each hop. After the entanglement swapping, the density matrix of the entanglement state of photon 1 and photon 4 is obtained by performing a partial trace over the environment. Then, the Bures fidelity of this entanglement is calculated. After that, we define the path equivalent damping factor to describe the characteristic of the two-hop noisy quantum relay path. With an equivalent calculation method, the results above can be generalized to multi-hop channel. The path equivalent damping factor of the multi-hop amplitude damping channel is also obtained. According to these results, we propose an optimal relay protocol for the quantum teleportation network with the criterion of path equivalent damping factor, which means that a relay path with the minimum path equivalent damping factor can obtain the highest teleportation fidelity. The types and parameters of the messages used in the protocol are given. The processes of the relay protocol are described specifically, including neighbor finding, quantum link noise measurement, and quantum link status transmission. An improved Dijkstra algorithm is used in the optimal path calculation. Furthermore, because the entanglement resources maintained in the quantum nodes are limited and may be exhausted in superior quantum links, we propose a resource reservation method to avoid the failure of the relay path setup. Theoretical analysis and simulation show that our method can obtain a lower average equivalent damping factor and higher teleportation fidelity. It can also be seen that increasing the number of the entanglement resources will raise the performance of the quantum network, however, it brings higher cost and complexity. Therefore, the entanglement resources maintained in the quantum nodes must be configured reasonably according to the network scale, the cost, the time delay and the need of the users.

A relay strategy for noisy quantum ad hoc network

Yang Guang, Lian Bao-wang, Min Nie

The path selection is a key problem in noisy quantum Ad Hoc network. In this paper, we propose a relay strategy to find the optimal relay path in Ad Hoc network with a noise model of amplitude damping channel. Based on the analysis of the noise influence on quantum entanglement relay path, we give the calculation method of the entanglement fidelity of a relay path and use this fidelity as the main criterion to choose an optimal relay path. To avoid the congestion of the good relay nodes, we use the number of free entanglement connections to control the choice of a relay path. The details of the relay protocol are given, including the information tables in the quantum nodes, the structure of the protocol messages, the quantum path finding procedures and the path maintenance process. The performance simulation shows our strategy has the ability to find the optimal quantum relay path with better quantum transmission quality.

Multi-hop quantum teleportation of an arbitrary two-qubit state based on hierarchical simultaneous entanglement swapping

Fan Wu, Ming-Qiang Bai, Liang Bao Tang +1 more

Abstract Combined with hierarchy simultaneous entanglement swapping, the scheme of the multi-hop quantum teleportation (QT) is proposed by using multi-pair Bell states. The scheme consists of two levels based on simultaneous entanglement swapping, namely Level-1 and Level-2. The former realizes simultaneous entanglement swapping of the inner segment, while the latter completes simultaneous entanglement swapping of the inter segment. Besides, the effect of four different types of noise (phase-damping, amplitude-damping, phase-flip, and bit-flip noise) on our scheme is analyzed by calculating the fidelity and concurrence. The results indicate that the fidelity and concurrence are related to the amplitude parameter, decoherence rate and number of nodes. Furthermore, compared with the scheme of the multi-hop QT adopting simultaneous entanglement swapping, our scheme can greatly reduce classical communication cost, and shows that the optimal classical communication cost can be obtained by selecting different segmentation methods.

The efficiency of quantum teleportation with three-qubit entangled state in a noisy environment

Chang-Yue Zhang, Zhu‐Jun Zheng, Zhao-Bing Fan +1 more

Quantum teleportation plays a significant role in the field of quantum communication. This paper investigates quantum teleportation through a noisy environment by using GHZ state and non-standard W state as quantum channels. We analyze the efficiency of quantum teleportation by solving analytically a master equation in Lindblad form. Following the quantum teleportation protocol, we obtain the fidelity of quantum teleportation as a function of evolution time. The calculation results show that the teleportation fidelity using non-standard W is higher in comparison to GHZ state at the same evolution time. Moreover, we consider the efficiency of teleportation with weak measurements and reverse quantum measurement under amplitude damping noise. Our analysis suggests that the teleportation fidelity using non-standard W is also more robust to noise than GHZ state in the same conditions. Interestingly, we found that weak measurement and its reverse operation have no positive effect on the efficiency of quantum teleportation by using GHZ and non-standard W state in the amplitude damping noise environment. In addition, we also demonstrate the efficiency of quantum teleportation can be improved by making minor modifications to the protocol.

Multi-hop quantum teleportation based on HSES via GHZ-like states

She-Xiang Jiang, Xiao-Long 晓龙 Wei 韦, Jin-Huan 金欢 Li 李 +1 more

Abstract Implementing quantum wireless multi-hop network communication is essential to improve the global quantum network system. In this paper, we employ eight-level GHZ states as quantum channels to realize multi-hop quantum communication, and utilize the logical relationship between the measurements of each node to derive the unitary operation performed by the end node. The hierarchical simultaneous entanglement switching (HSES) method is adopted, resulting in a significant reduction in the consumption of classical information compared to multi-hop quantum teleportation (QT) based on general simultaneous entanglement switching (SES). In addition, the proposed protocol is simulated on the IBM Quantum Experiment platform (IBM QE). Then, the data obtained from the experiment are analyzed using quantum state tomography, which verifies the protocol’s good fidelity and accuracy. Finally, by calculating fidelity, we analyze the impact of four different types of noise (phase-damping, amplitude-damping, phase-flip and bit-flip) in this protocol.

Enhancing teleportation via noisy channels: Effects of the induced multipartite entanglement

Víctor H. T. Brauer, Andrea Valdés-Hernández

Quantum teleportation in the presence of noisy channels acting on a bipartite resource state is considered. We consider a family of generalized noisy channels that continuously connect the amplitude damping and the dephasing channels, encompassing a wide family of in-between scenarios, to delve into the relation between the teleportation success and the amount of three- and four-partite entanglement (distributed among the qubits of the resource state and those representing local environments) generated during the evolution. Our analysis reveals that for a fixed entanglement of the resource state, the channels that better protect the teleportation fidelity against the detrimental effects of noise are those that generate higher amounts of (Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger--type) multipartite entanglement. This suggests that the dynamically induced multipartite correlations may serve as an additional resource for teleportation and provides insight into the characterization of processes and of the type of induced entanglement according to their ability to assist the protocol.

A Novel Method to against Quantum Noises in Quantum Teleportation

Shengyao Wu, Wenjie Liu, Zhiguo Qu

In order to improve the anti-noise performance of quantum teleportation, this paper proposes a novel dynamic quantum anti-noise scheme based on the quantum teleportation which transmits single qubit state using Bell state. Considering that quantum noise only acts on the transmitted qubit, i.e., the entangled state that Alice and Bob share in advance is affected by the noise, thus affecting the final transmission result. In this paper, a method for dynamically adjusting the shared entangled state according to the noise environment is proposed. By calculating the maximum fidelity of the output state to determine the shared entangled state, which makes the quantum teleportation be affected by the noise as little as possible. This paper calculates the fidelity of teleportation under four kinds of channel noise (amplitude damping, phase damping, bit flip and depolarizing noise). The results show that the scheme has a suppression effect on phase damping, bit flip and depolarizing noise under certain conditions. When the noise intensity is larger, the optimized efficiency is better.
