Cumulants and waitingtime distribution of the photon emission from driven BaF molecule

Abstract

In this paper, we consider a single BaF molecule driven by an external field. When the symmetry is broken, the states of the BaF molecule demonstrate the permanent dipole moments. An external laser field to excite BaF molecule transition from its ground state to its excited state, and a radio frequency field couple with the permanent dipole moment of the BaF. The first order and second order cumulants of the emission photons and the waiting time distribution are studied via the recently developed generating function approach, which is very convenient to study the counting statistics and the corresponding probability distributions. The results demonstrate that the radio frequency field could help the BaF molecule to absorb photons from the driving field. The second and third order waiting time distributions oscillate with the evolution time, which reflects the states oscillating with the external radio frequency field.

Emission photon statistics of V-type three-level single molecule with permanent dipoles

Long Shi

In this paper,we discuss the emission photon statistics of V -type three-level single molecule with permanent dipoles, which driven by continuous laser and electric radio frequency(rf) fields, via the generating function method developed recently. The average emission photon numbersN,lineshapes and the Mandel's Q parameters are studied at different detuning frequency and rf strength(internsity). The waiting time distribution w(t) is also studied. The results demonstrate that the emission photon statistical properties is strongly affected by the laser frequency and rf strength(intensity),in the other hand,we can control the emission photons through the external field.

Photon Statistical Properties Emitted from Single Molecule Derived from Generating Function Method

Bai-Ping Han

In this paper, we summarize the photon emission statistical properties of single molecule system, using the recently developed generating function method. Through the introduce of one or double “auxiliary” variables, we can investigate the first moment and second moment of photon emission statistics driven by different external fields, such as the line shapes and Mandel's Q parameters, the photon emission probabilities, the probability distribution of time between successive emission, the waiting time and the waiting time distribution, the cross correlation, the joint probabilities, etc. Among, the first moment of photon statistics and the experimental results of optical amplification are in good agreement.

Photon emission from a single-molecule source driven by an rf field

Igor Rozhkov, Eli Barkai

The behavior of a single molecule driven simultaneously by a laser and by an electric radio frequency field is investigated using a non-Hermitian Hamiltonian approach. Employing the renormalization group method for differential equations, we calculate the average waiting time for the first photon emission event to occur, and determine the conditions for the suppression and enhancement of photon emission. An abrupt transition from localizationlike behavior to delocalization behavior is found.

Coherent Destruction of Photon Emission from a Single Molecule Source: A Renormalization Group Approach

Igor Rozhkov, Eli Barkai

The photon emission from a single molecule driven simultaneously by a laser and a slow electric radio frequency (rf) field is studied. We use a non-Hermitian Hamiltonian approach which accounts for the radiative decay of a two level system modeling a single molecule source. We apply the renormalization group method for differential equations to obtain long time solution of the corresponding Schrdinger equation, which allows us to calculate the average waiting time for the first photon emission. Then, we analyze the conditions for suppression and enhancement of photon emission in this dissipative two-level system. In particular we derive a transcendental equation, which yields the non-trivial rf field control parameters, for which enhancement and suppression of photon emission occurs. For finite values of radiative decay rate an abrupt transition from the molecule's localization in its ground state to delocalization is found for certain critical values of the rf field parameters. Our results are shown to be in agreement with the available experiments [Ch. Brunel et al, Phys. Rev. Lett. 81, 2679 (1998)].

The effect of environment on fluorescence photon statistics of single molecule system

Han Bai

The fluorescence photon emission of single molecule two-level system (TLS) simultaneously driven by the laser and electric radio frequency (RF) fields is investigated, using the generating function method developed recently. The fluorescence photon statistical properties of single molecule TLS are studied theoretically, under the single laser pulse field and the single RF pulse. Further, we can control the photon emission of two-level system.
