Squeezed coherent states and the one-dimensional Morse quantum system

Abstract

Abstract. The Morse potential one-dimensional quantum system is a realistic model for studying vibrations of atoms in a diatomic molecule. This system is very close to the harmonic oscillator one. We thus propose a construction of squeezed coherent states similar to the one of harmonic oscillator using ladder operators. Properties of these states are analysed with respect to the localization in position, minimal Heisenberg uncertainty relation, the statistical properties and illustrated with examples using the finite number of states in a well-known diatomic molecule. 1.

Generalized and Gaussian coherent states for the Morse potential

Maia N Angelova, Véronique Hussin

In this paper, we consider the one-dimensional anharmonic oscillator, which represents well the anharmonic vibrations in diatomic molecules. For the description of the associate potential we use the Morse potential, which gives a good approximation of the experimentally observed vibrational modes of molecules and hence contributes to the realistic description of the spectrum of diatomic molecules. The generalized and Gaussian coherent states are thus constructed and compared in terms of the localization of the particle in those states. We apply these results to the example of the sodium chloride molecule, 1 H 35 Cl.

Morse-like squeezed coherent states and some of their properties

O de los Santos-Sánchez, J. Récamier

Using the f-deformed oscillator formalism, we introduce a class of squeezed coherent states for a Morse potential system (Morse-like squeezed coherent states) defined as approximate eigenstates of a linear combination of f-deformed ladder operators. For the states thus constructed, we analyze their statistical properties, their uncertainty relations, their Wigner function and their temporal evolution on phase space.

Coherent and Squeezed States

S. Rajasekar, R. Velusamy

This chapter presents some basic aspects of coherent and squeezed states. Certain superpositions of energy Eigen functions of linear harmonic oscillators are called coherent states because they are of significance in optics for the representation of coherent light waves. The chapter obtains the Heisenberg uncertainty relation for the harmonic oscillator states and shows that it is a minimum for ground state. It defines coherent states and shows that they are the minimum uncertainty product states. Coherent states were constructed for many interesting potentials including infinite well and Poschl-Teller potentials and Morse potential. A particular quantum state of a spin system which most closely resembles a classical spin is termed as a spin coherent state. Use of squeezed states in quantum cryptography, quantum distribution of keys, extended coherence time, quantum engineering, teleportation, optics, detection of gravitational waves, quantum metrology and laser interferometers have been analyzed.

Coherent and squeezed states for the 3D harmonic oscillator

Amel Mazouz, M. Bentaïba, Ali Mahieddine

A three-dimensional harmonic oscillator is studied in the context of generalized coherent states. We construct its squeezed states as eigenstates of linear contribution of ladder operators which are associated to the generalized Heisenberg algebra. We study the probability density to show the compression effect on the squeezed states. Our analysis reveals that squeezed states give us some freedom on the precise knowledge of position of the particle while maintaining the Heisenberg uncertainty relation minimum, squeezed states remains squeezed states over time.
