New relations for two-dimensional Hermite polynomials

OpenAlex

Abstract

The effective formulas reducing the two-dimensional Hermite polynomials to the classical (one-dimensional) orthogonal polynomials are given. New one-parameter generating functions for these polynomials are derived. Asymptotical formulas for large values of indices are found. The applications to the squeezed one-mode states and to the time-dependent quantum harmonic oscillator are considered.

New approach to generating functions of single- and two-variable even- and odd-Hermite polynomials and applications in quantum optics

Fang Jia, Shuang Xu, Liyun Hu +2 more

Using the IWOP technique and completeness of representation, we obtain the integral expressions of single- and two-variable Hermite polynomials. Based on this, we further derive the generating functions of single- and two-variable even- and odd-Hermit polynomials. This method seems more concise and direct. In addition, some applications such as deriving new formula and constructing new two-mode quantum states are discussed. It is found that two-variable Hermite polynomials excitation can used to produce entangled coherent states.

New generating function formulae of even- and odd-Hermite polynomials obtained and applied in the context of quantum optics

范洪义, 展德会

By combining the operator Hermite polynomial method and the technique of integration within an ordered product of operators, for the first time we derive the generating function of even- and odd-Hermite polynomials which will be useful in constructing new optical field states. We then show that the squeezed state and photon-added squeezed state can be expressed by even- and odd-Hermite polynomials.

Some new generating function formulae of the two-variable Hermite polynomials and their application in quantum optics

De-Hui Zhan, Hong-Yi Fan

We derive some new generating function formulae of the two-variable Hermite polynomials, such as H n ,2 m ( x ), H 2 n ,2 m ( x , y ), and H 2 n + l ,2 m + k ( x , y ). We employ the operator Hermite polynomial method and the technique of integration within an ordered product of operators to solve these problems, which will be useful in constructing new optical field states.

A study of the orthogonal polynomials associated with the quantum harmonic oscillator on constant curvature spaces

Christophe Vignat, Pedro W. Lamberti

Recently, Cariñena, et al. [Ann. Phys. 322, 434 (2007)] introduced a new family of orthogonal polynomials that appear in the wave functions of the quantum harmonic oscillator in two-dimensional constant curvature spaces. They are a generalization of the Hermite polynomials and will be called curved Hermite polynomials in the following. We show that these polynomials are naturally related to the relativistic Hermite polynomials introduced by Aldaya et al. [Phys. Lett. A 156, 381 (1991)], and thus are Jacobi polynomials. Moreover, we exhibit a natural bijection between the solutions of the quantum harmonic oscillator on negative curvature spaces and on positive curvature spaces. At last, we show a maximum entropy property for the ground states of these oscillators.
