Abstract

Nonlinear fermions of degree n (n-fermions) are introduced as particles with creation and annihilation operators obeying the simple nonlinear anticommutation relation AA† + A†nAn = 1. The (n + 1)th-order nilpotency of these operators follows from the existence of unique A-vacuum. Supposing appropriate (n + 1)th-order nilpotent para-Grassmann variables and integration rules the sets of n-fermion number states, 'right' and 'left' ladder operator coherent states (CS) and displacement-operator-like CS are constructed. The (n + 1) × (n + 1) matrix realization of the related para-Grassmann algebra is provided. General (n + 1)th-order nilpotent ladder operators of finite-dimensional systems are expressed as polynomials in terms of n-fermion operators. Overcomplete sets of (normalized) 'right' and 'left' eigenstates of such general ladder operators are constructed and their properties are briefly discussed.

Nonlinearn-pseudo fermions

D. A. Trifonov

Nonlinear pseudo-fermions of degree n ( n -pseudo-fermions) are introduced as (pseudo) particles with creation and annihilation operators b and a , b ≠ a †, obeying the simple nonlinear anticommutation relation ab + b n a n = 1. The ( n + 1)-order nilpotency of these operators follows from the existence of unique (up to a bi-normalization factor) a -vacuum. Supposing appropriate ( n + 1)-order nilpotent para-Grassmann variables and integration rules the sets of n -pseudo-fermion number states, 'right' and 'left' ladder operator bi-overcomplete sets of coherent states are constructed. Explicit examples of n -pseudo-fermion ladder operators are provided, and the relation of pseudo-fermions to finite level pseudo-Hermitian systems is briefly considered. Ladder operators and coherent states for nonlinear potentials

R. Román-Ancheyta, O de los Santos-Sánchez, J. Récamier

In this work we make use of deformed operators to construct the coherent states of some nonlinear systems by generalization of two definitions: i) As eigenstates of a deformed annihilation operator and ii) by application of a deformed displacement operator to the vacuum state. We also construct the coherent states for the same systems using the ladder operators obtained by traditional methods with the knowledge of the eigenfunctions and eigenvalues of the corresponding Schrödinger equation. We show that both methods yield coherent states with identical algebraic structure.

Coherent States

Bryan J. Dalton, John Jeffers, Stephen Mark Barnett

Abstract This chapter defines and determines the properties of the important (though non-physical) boson and fermion coherent states, which are specified in terms of c-number (bosons) or Grassmann (fermions) variables and their complex conjugates, and defined via unitary displacement operators acting on the vacuum state. Important non-orthogonality, overcompleteness and coherence properties of coherent states are obtained. Coherent states are shown to be eigenstates of mode annihilation operators, with eigenvalues given by the c-number or Grassmann variable specifying the state. Related (unnormalised) Bargmann states are defined, depending only on the variable and not its complex conjugate, and are used to obtain useful representations of physical states and canonical forms for operators in terms of Bargmann state projectors, as well as obtaining important results such as for traces of operator products in terms of phase space integrals. Mode creation operators acting on Bargmann states are shown as equivalent to differentiation.

Coherent states, displaced number states and Laguerre polynomial states for su(1,1) Lie algebra

Wang, X G

The ladder operator formalism of a general quantum state for su(1,1) Lie algebra is obtained. The state bears the generally deformed oscillator algebraic structure. It is found that the Peremolov's coherent state is a su(1,1) nonlinear coherent state. The expansion and the exponential form of the nonlinear coherent state are given. We obtain the matrix elements of the su(1,1) displacement operator in terms of the hypergeometric functions and the expansions of the displaced number states and Laguerre polynomial states are followed. Finally some interesting su(1,1) optical systems are discussed.

Nonlinear coherent states for nonlinear systems

O de los Santos-Sánchez, J. Récamier

In this work, we construct nonlinear coherent states for Hamiltonians with linear and quadratic terms in the number operator by the generalization of two definitions: as eigenstates of a deformed annihilation operator and as those states obtained by the application of a deformed displacement operator on the vacuum state. We evaluate their temporal dependence, analyze its dispersion relations and some of their statistical properties for two model Hamiltonians, one supporting a finite number of bound states and the other supporting an infinite number of bound states.
