Abstract

We show that the violation of rotational symmetry for differential cross section for Aharonov-Bohm effect with nonstandard boundary conditions, as recently discussed by Stovicek and Vana, Europhys. Lett. {\\bf 44}, 403 (1998), has been known for some time. Moreover, the results were applied to discuss the Hall effect and persistent currents of fermions in a plane pierced by a flux tube.

Differential cross-section for the Aharonov-Bohm effect with non-standard boundary conditions

Pavel Šťovíček, Ondrej Vana

A basic analysis is provided for the differential cross-section characterizing Aharo nov-Bohm effect with non-standard (non-regular) boundary conditions imposed on a wave function at the potential barrier. If compared with the standard case two new features can occur: a violation of rotational symmetry and a more significant backward scattering.

Aharonov-Bohm scattering on two parallel flux tubes of the same magnetic flux

Comment on "Condition for nonexistence of Aharonov-Bohm effect"

U. Klein

A recent attempt to deny the crucial role of inaccessible fields in experiments performed to test the predictions of Aharonov and Bohm is critically discussed. It is shown that these experiments may well be considered to show the reality of the Aharonov-Bohm effect even if it is correct to say that the results are completely determined by the accessible field.
