Towards feedback control of entanglement

Abstract

We provide a model to investigate feedback control of entanglement. It consists of two distant (two-level) atoms which interact through a radiation field and becomes entangled. We then show the possibility to stabilize such entanglement against atomic decay by means of a feedback action.

Markovian feedback to control continuous-variable entanglement

Stefano Mancini

We present a model to realize quantum feedback control of continuous variable entanglement. It consists of two interacting bosonic modes subject to amplitude damping and achieving an entangled Gaussian steady state. The possibility to greatly improve the degree of entanglement by means of Markovian (direct) feedback is then shown.

Quantum Feedback Control Based on Entanglement Swapping

Dong Daoyi, Zonghai Chen

A scheme of quantum feedback control in which entanglement swapping is used to construct quantum feedback controller is proposed. The output state of the system to be controlled is entangled with the quantum state of a particle near the actuator through entanglement swapping, which constructs a quantum feedback channel, and two pairs of entangled states, two entanglement swapping processes and a unitary transformer together constitute a quantum controller. This feedback strategy can perform some tasks, such as remote control of entangled states and distant feedback of quantum states, which are not possible using quantum control with classical feedback.

Controlling entanglement between two separated atoms by quantum-jump-based feedback

Dong Xue, Jian Zou, Jungang Li +2 more

We consider a model consisting of two (two-level) atoms which are placed in two separated heavily damped cavities respectively. We show that the quantum-jump-based feedback based on joint measurement can be used to generate a steady entangled state between two atoms against decoherence. We analyse the effects of general local control Hamiltonians in the performance of entanglement production and show that by choosing a proper control Hamiltonian the steady maximal entanglement between two separated atoms can be protected.

Universal feedback control of two-qubit entanglement

Morteza Rafiee, Alireza Nourmandipour, Stefano Mancini

We consider two qubits undergoing local dissipation and subject to local driving. We then determine the optimal Markovian feedback action to preserve initial entanglement as well as to create stationary entanglement with the help of an $\text{XY}$ interaction Hamiltonian. Such feedback actions are worked out in a way not depending on the initial two-qubit state, whence called universal.
