Abstract

In this paper we study the evolution of the two two-level atoms interacting with a single-mode quantized radiation field, namely, two-atom multiphoton Jaynes-Cummings model when the radiation field and atoms are initially prepared in the superpostion of displaced number states and excited atomic states, respectively. For this system we investigate the atomic inversion, Wigner function, phase distribution and entanglement.

Evolution of the superposition of displaced number states with the two-atom multiphoton Jaynes–Cummings model: interference and entanglement

Faisal A A El-Orany

In this paper, we study the evolution of two two-level atoms interacting with a single-mode quantized radiation field, namely, the two-atom multiphoton Jaynes–Cummings model (JCM). We assume that the field and the atoms are initially prepared in the superposition of displaced number states and excited atomic states, respectively. For this system, we investigate the atomic inversion, Wigner function, phase distribution and entanglement. We show that for symmetric (asymmetric) atoms, the system can generate asymmetric (symmetric) cat states at a quarter of the revival time. Furthermore, the degrees of entanglement for the field–atoms and the one-atom–remainder tangles depend on the rate of energy flow between the parties. The interference in phase space decreases the degree of entanglement in the bipartite.

Relationship between the atomic inversion and Wigner function for multimode multiphoton Jaynes–Cummings model

Faisal A. A. El-Orany

In this paper we consider the multimode multiphoton Jaynes–Cummings model, which consists of a two-level atom, initially prepared in an excited atomic state, interacting with N modes of electromagnetic field prepared in general pure quantum states. For this system we show that under certain conditions the evolution of the Wigner function at the phase-space origin provides direct information on the corresponding atomic inversion. This relation is also valid even if the system includes Kerr-like nonlinearity, Stark shift effect, different types of initial atomic states as well as moving atoms. Furthermore, based on this fact we discuss for the single-mode case the possibility of detecting the atomic inversion by means of techniques similar to those used for the Wigner function.

Solution to Nonlinear Jaynes-Cummings Models with Nonlinearities of both Two-Mode Field and Atom-Field Interaction

Yu Wan‐Lun

We use the Lewis-Riesenfeld invariant and superoperator methods to solve the system of the interaction of a two-level atom with two modes of a quantized field via multiphoton process, including any form of both intensity-dependent interaction and nonlinearity of the two-mode radiation field. The corresponding general atom-field wave function and time evolution operator as well as the time-evolving expressions for both the atomic inversion and the photon numbers of two modes field are evaluated.

Field statistics in some generalized Jaynes-Cummings models

Surendra Singh

Photon statistics in some fully quantized models of the interaction of a two-level atom with a single-mode radiation field have been studied using the operator equations of motion. Expressions for the photon number distribution and the mean photon number are presented for various initial conditions. It is found that the mean photon number may show decays and revivals of coherence similar to those of the atomic inversion in the coherent-state Jaynes-Cummings model. Application of these models to the study of multiphoton laser, absorption, and emission processes is also discussed.

JAYNES-CUMMINGS MODEL WITH DISPLACED NUMBER STATES

Vladimír Bužek, Igor Jex, Martina Brisudová

We investigate the dynamics of the Jaynes-Cummings model with the cavity field initially prepared in the displaced number state. The time evolution of the atomic population inversion, squeezing of the cavity field and the emission spectra from the two-level atom are studied.

On the evolution of superposition of squeezed displaced number states with the multiphoton Jaynes-Cummings model

Faisal A. A. El-Orany, A.‐S. F. Obada

In this paper we discuss the quantum properties for superposition of squeezed displaced number states against multiphoton Jaynes-Cummings model (JCM). In particular, we investigate atomic inversion, photon-number distribution, purity, quadrature squeezing, Mandel Q parameter and Wigner function. We show that the quadrature squeezing for three-photon absorption case can exhibit revivals and collapses typical to those occurring in the atomic inversion for one-photon absorption case. Also we prove that for odd number absorption parameter there is a connection between the evolution of the atomic inversion and the evolution of the Wigner function at the origin in phase space. Furthermore, we show that the nonclassical states whose the Wigner functions values at the origins are negative will be always nonclassical when they are evolving through the JCM with even absorption parameter. Also we demonstrate that various types of cat states can be generated via this system. PACS numbers: 42.50Dv,42.60.Gd I.
