Abstract

Quantum Perceptron is a combination method of artificial neural network and the concept of quantum computing. There are several proposed methods of quantum neural network where the methods have their own approach by using the concept of computing quantum. However, for several methods do not give detail exposure in deciding neural network architecture. Neural network architecture is most influential in the process of learning and testing in data classification. Therefore, presented some models of artificial neural network architecture using the concept of quantum computing is a superposition qubit. The qubit superposition is used to transform attribute values in the dataset so that the dataset can be used in the learning and testing process to obtain the value of the learning rate and the accuracy of the test. The dataset used is User Knowledge Modeling Dataset from the UCI Machine Learning Repository which contains students' knowledge about DC electric machine topic. The final result of this research shows that the value of learning rate and accuracy level of testing is very good in classifying the data.

Development of Quantum Circuit Architecture on Quantum Perceptron Algorithm for Classification of Marketing Bank Data

Mochamad Wahyudi, Solikhun Solikhun

The creation of quantum circuit architecture based on the quantum perceptron algorithm to classify marketing bank data is proposed in this work. A quantum circuit is a quantum gate made up of two quantum gates. Quantum bits are used in this study's computation. The primary proposed learning method was not ideal, which is the context of this study. The percentage of qubits measurement value is still 90.7 percent. It is essential to raise the value of the qubit rate. Using the IBM Quantum Experience quantum computer, researchers measured, trained, and tested the quantum circuit architecture. Bank marketing data from the UCI Machine Learning Repository was used. A quantum circuit architecture model results from this research the quantum circuit measurement results.

A Novel Autonomous Perceptron Model for Pattern Classification Applications

Alaa Sagheer, Mohammed Zidan, Mohammed M. Abdelsamea

Pattern classification represents a challenging problem in machine learning and data science research domains, especially when there is a limited availability of training samples. In recent years, artificial neural network (ANN) algorithms have demonstrated astonishing performance when compared to traditional generative and discriminative classification algorithms. However, due to the complexity of classical ANN architectures, ANNs are sometimes incapable of providing efficient solutions when addressing complex distribution problems. Motivated by the mathematical definition of a quantum bit (qubit), we propose a novel autonomous perceptron model (APM) that can solve the problem of the architecture complexity of traditional ANNs. APM is a nonlinear classification model that has a simple and fixed architecture inspired by the computational superposition power of the qubit. The proposed perceptron is able to construct the activation operators autonomously after a limited number of iterations. Several experiments using various datasets are conducted, where all the empirical results show the superiority of the proposed model as a classifier in terms of accuracy and computational time when it is compared with baseline classification models.

Artificial neural network architecture selection in a quantum computer

Adenilton José da Silva

Miniaturisation of computers components is taking us from classical to quantum physics domain. Further reduction in computer components size eventually will lead to the development of computer systems whose components will be on such a small scale that quantum physics intrinsic properties must be taken into account. The expression quantum computation and a first formal model of a quantum computer were first employed in the eighties. With the discovery of a quantum algorithm for factoring exponentially faster than any known classical algorithm in 1997, quantum computing began to attract industry investments for the development of a quantum computer and the design of novel quantum algorithms. For instance, the development of learning algorithms for neural networks. Some artificial neural networks models can simulate an universal Turing machine, and together with learning capabilities have numerous applications in real life problems. One limitation of artificial neural networks is the lack of an efficient algorithm to determine its optimal architecture. The main objective of this work is to verify whether we can obtain some advantage with the use of quantum computation techniques in a neural network learning and architecture selection procedure. We propose a quantum neural network, named quantum perceptron over a field (QPF). QPF is a direct generalisation of a classical perceptron which addresses some drawbacks found in previous models for quantum perceptrons. We also present a learning algorithm named Superposition based Architecture Learning algorithm (SAL) that optimises the neural network weights and architectures. SAL searches for the best architecture in a finite set of neural network architectures and neural networks parameters in linear time over the number of examples in the training set. SAL is the first quantum learning algorithm to determine neural network architectures in linear time. This speedup is obtained by the use of quantum parallelism and a non linear quantum operator.

Quantum Neural Network Image Three-Classification Model Based on the Iris Dataset

Minglin Zhang, Xiao Chen, Zhihao Liu

Quantum neural networks, which combine quantum computing and machine learning, have become a topic of great interest due to the advancement of quantum computing. This paper introduces a pure quantum neural network model based on parameterized quantum circuits, applied to image classification using the Iris dataset. Experimental validation demonstrates superior classification accuracy in three-class tasks. Specifically, this paper innovatively uses IQP encoding to encode classical data into quantum states, and independently designs the Ansatz in the quantum neural network. Experimental results show that compared with the other three classical classification algorithms and four quantum neural network models, the pure quantum neural network model proposed in the study has the highest accuracy in image classification tasks. In addition, this article analyzes and evaluates the model’s expression characteristics and entanglement capabilities, providing a reference for further optimizing and expanding the quantum neural network model. Overall, this research provides new ideas and methods for the integration of quantum computing and machine learning, which has certain practical value and research significance.

Handwritten Numeric Image Classification with Quantum Neural Network using Quantum Computer Circuit Simulator

Achmad Benny Mutiara, Muhammad Amir, Rina Refianti +1 more

Quantum Computer is a computer machine using principles of quantum mechanics in doing its computation. The Quantum Computer Machine itself is still in the development stage and has not been deployed yet, however TensorFlow provides a library for hybrid quantum-classical machine learning called TensorFlow Quantum (TFQ). One of the quantum computing models is the Quantum Neural Network (QNN). QNN is adapted from classical neural networks capable of processing qubit data and passing quantum circuits. QNN is a machine learning model that allows quantum computers to classify image data. The image data used is classical data, but classical data cannot reach a superposition state. So in order to carry out this protocol, the data must be readable into a quantum device that provides superposition. QNN uses a supervised learning method to predict image data. Quantum Neural Network (QNN) with a supervised learning method for classifying handwritten numeric image data is implemented using a quantum computer circuit simulation using the Python 3.6 programming language. The quantum computer circuit simulation is designed using library Cirq and TFQ. The classification process is carried out on Google Colab. The results of training on the QNN model obtained a value of 0.337 for the loss value and 0.3427 for the validation loss value. Meanwhile, the hinge accuracy value from the training results is 0.8603 for the hinge accuracy value with training data and 0.8669 for the hinge accuracy validation value. Model testing is done by providing 100 handwritten number images that are tested, with 53 image data of number three and 47 image data of number six. The results obtained for the percentage of testing accuracy are 100% for the number three image and 100% for the number six image. Thus, the total percentage of testing is 100%.
