Revisiting Our Quantum World

Abstract

Of course, now we know that quantum mechanics has been a fundamental structure of our world since our universe came into being. However, it has been only a century since the experimental and theoretical discovery of quantum mechanics and its extensions into many implications and applications. In particular, there are implications across many disciplines that most likely will affect education, health, security, etc. Examples are given of the need for starting education as early as possible in schools, the use of nano-robots to deliver drugs targeted to specific molecular sites, to developing new cryptographic systems to safeguard our privacy.

Revisiting Our Quantum World

We now know that quantum mechanics has been a fundamental structure of our world since the universe came into being. However, it has been only a century since the experimental and theoretical discoveries of quantum mechanics were made. We are becoming increasingly aware of its many implications and applications. In particular, there are implications across many disciplines that most likely will affect education, health, and security. Examples are given of the need to start education as early as possible in schools, the use of nano-robots to deliver drugs targeted to specific molecular sites, and to developing new cryptographic systems to safeguard our privacy.

Quantum mechanics 2025 at the crossroads of science and humanities: Towards the epiphany of a new cultural world a century later

Marco Giliberti, Enrico Giannetto, Katarzyna Wyborska +3 more

A century after its formulation, we discuss the multifaceted implications for education of the vast cultural connections that quantum mechanics (QM) has helped establish between physics and other disciplines. Drawing on the most recent research in QM education, we will address the epistemological paradigms that underpin our understanding of nature and the cultural significance of this theory for the intellectual development of students at various educational levels; always maintaining a careful focus on the fundamental educational challenge of teaching and learning about the nature of science through physics education.

Quantum Reality

Jonathan Allday

Probably the most successful scientific theory ever created, quantum theory has profoundly changed our view of the world and extended the limits of our knowledge, impacting both the theoretical interpretation of a tremendous range of phenomena and the practical development of a host of technological breakthroughs. Yet for all its success, quantum t

Fundamental considerations inspired by quantum physics

Anton Zeilinger

I have been interested in quantum mechanics or, synonymously, quantum physics since the very days when I first learned about them as a student. The initial impression was that of an immense mathematical beauty of the formalism of quantum mechanics. The second impression was the fantastic agreement of the theoretical predictions of quantum physics for experiments, and the third and somewhat surprising impression was that there was widespread disagreement about the interpretation of the new theory.

Quantum Robotics in Health Care

A Gobinath, P. Rajeswari, Suresh N. Kumar +1 more

Recent years have seen a paradigm shift in healthcare due to the introduction of quantum robots, which has produced groundbreaking improvements in both medical science and patient care. Through this integration, different parts of health care have benefited from increased precision, efficiency, and customization because of the application of robots and quantum mechanics concepts. Surgery using quantum amplification is one major area of influence. Robotic systems can execute complex surgical procedures with unmatched precision by utilizing quantum computing capabilities, which minimize human error and shorten recuperation periods. This has increased the range of procedures that may be carried out with higher safety and precision, in addition to improving patient outcomes. Furthermore, the field of therapeutics has undergone a revolution with the use of nanorobotics in targeted medication delivery. Minimizing adverse effects and optimizing therapeutic success, quantum-inspired nanorobots can precisely traverse through the human body and deliver drugs to the damaged areas. This focused strategy might revolutionize the way that many diseases, such as cancer and neurological conditions, are treated. Additionally, early illness diagnosis with increased sensitivity and specificity has been made possible by diagnostic technologies inspired by quantum mechanics. These instruments use quantum computing techniques to evaluate intricate biological data, making it easier to detect ailments like cancer, heart problems, and infectious infections at an early stage. Early identification can possibly save countless lives and greatly increase the likelihood of a good outcome from treatment. Nonetheless, there are difficulties in using quantum robots in the medical field. It is important to give considerable thought to ethical issues, including data privacy, security, and the possibility of technological exploitation. To ensure the ethical and responsible application of quantum robots in health care, it is imperative to establish thorough regulatory frameworks and ethical criteria. It concludes by highlighting how quantum robots have the ability to completely alter the healthcare industry. This work intends to promote the responsible use of quantum robots to improve global healthcare results and increase patient well-being by addressing the advantages, difficulties, and ethical issues related to their application.

Quantum Theory without Observers—Part One

Sheldon Goldstein

Since its inception some 70 years ago and despite its extraordinary predictive successes, quantum mechanics has been plagued by conceptual difficulties. Plainly put, the basic problem is this: It is not at all clear what quantum mechanics is about. What, in fact, does quantum mechanics describe?
