From Zou and Anderson's spinon-bolon effective Hamiltonian, for very large Coulomb repulsion U, we consider the problem of ferromagnetism on the square lattice by studying the fluctuation effect of bosons (holons).

ON SOME APPLICATIONS OF TIME-DEPENDENT INVARIANTS TO THE SEMICLASSICAL FORMULATION OF QUANTUM MECHANICS

R. M. Dreizler, H. Köhl

It is shown, that time-dependent classical and quantum mechanical invariants (TDI) may be of considerable value in semiclassical formulations of time-dependent quantum mechanical problems. We demonstrate, that the application of TDI allows the application of several ground-state technologies as for instance the Wigner-Kirkwood and WKB-expansion to the TD situation. Possible applications to semiclassical wave packet motion and to (low energy) nuclear hydrodynamics are outlined.

STUDY OF A SYSTEM FORMED OF A LARGE NUMBER OF PARTICLES IN QUANTUM MECHANICS

Roger Balian, Vincent P. Gillet

The problems presented by systems formed of a large number of particles are reviewed. The phenomena caused by interactions in such systems, the general problems which they pose, and the methods used for their resolution are discussed. (J.S.R.)
