Quantum Physics and the Existence of God

Stephen Priest

Interpretations of quantum physics are shown to presuppose the reality of consciousness. But if a minimal realism about the external world is true, then the consciousness presupposed by quantum reality cannot be only that of the scientific observer, cannot be only ‘local’ but must be ‘global’. Global consciousness is argued to have all and only the essential properties of God. Quantum reality depends on God’s consciousness and the physical world depends on quantum reality. Therefore, the physical world depends on God’s consciousness.

Universal Field of Quantum Consciousness: An Ontological Nexus of Classical and Quantum Physics

Sirajul Husain

A Universal Field of Quantum-Consciousness is postulated for interpreting non-locality, without violating the laws of classical physics, by virtue of the inherent attribute of unity of the phenomenon of quantum-consciousness. By substantiating unity of quantum-consciousness, in terms of its contribution in the neuroscientific evolution of unity of human-consciousness, plausibility of the Universal Field of Quantum-Consciousness is explored as an ontological interface between the classical and quantum- physics.

A quantum physical argument for panpsychism

Shan Gao

Abstract: It has been widely thought that consciousness has no causal efficacy in the physical world. However, this may be not the case. In this paper, it is argued that a conscious being can distinguish definite perceptions and their quantum superpositions, while a measuring sys-tem without consciousness cannot distinguish such non-orthogonal quantum states. The existence of this distinct quantum physical effect of consciousness may have interesting implications for the science of consciousness. In particular, it suggests that consciousness is not emergent but a fundamental feature of the universe. This provides a possible quantum basis for panpsychism.
