Abstract

In this paper, secrecy performance is studied for the classic Wyner's wiretap channel which follows Generalised Gamma (GG) distribution. In order to evaluate the secrecy performance, we derived the exact Average Secrecy Rate (ASR) and closed form expression for the Probability of Non-Zero Secrecy Capacity (PNZSC) for different fading parameters corresponding to main and eavesdropper's channels. The results are then simulated and verified. It has been observed that the ASR of GG fading increases with the increase in the fading constant of the main channel.

On the Secrecy Capacity of Fisher-Snedecor F Fading Channels

Osamah S. Badarneh, Paschalis C. Sofotasios, Sami Muhaidat +3 more

The performance of physical-layer security of the classic Wyner's wiretap model over Fisher-Snedecor F composite fading channels is considered in this work. Specifically, the main channel (i.e., between the source and the legitimate destination) and the eavesdropper's channel (i.e., between the source and the illegitimate destination) are assumed to experience independent quasi-static Fisher-Snedecor F fading conditions, which have been shown to be encountered in realistic wireless transmission scenarios in conventional and emerging communication systems. In this context, exact closed-form expressions for the average secrecy capacity (ASC) and the probability of non-zero secrecy capacity (PNSC) are derived. Additionally, an asymptotic analytical expression for the ASC is presented. The impact of shadowing and multipath fading on the secrecy performance is investigated. Our results show that increasing the fading parameter of the main channel and/or the shadowing parameter of the eavesdropper's channel improves the secrecy performance. The analytical results are compared with Monte-Carlo simulations to validate the analysis.

Performance Analysis of Physical Layer Security Over Generalized-$K$ Fading Channels Using a Mixture Gamma Distribution

Hongjiang Lei, Huan Zhang, Imran Shafique Ansari +4 more

In this letter, the secrecy performance of the classic Wyner's wiretap model over generalized-K fading channels is studied. The closed-form expressions for the average secrecy capacity, secure outage probability, and the probability of strictly positive secrecy capacity are derived. The new expressions provide a unified form, which can handle several of the well-known composite fading environments as special or limiting cases. Monte-Carlo simulations are performed to verify the proposed analysis models.

In this letter, we study the secrecy performance of the classic Wyner's wiretap model over the generalized Gamma fading channels. The closed-form expressions for the probability of strictly positive secrecy capacity and the lower bound of secure outage probability are derived. Secrecy Characteristics With Assistance of Mixture Gamma Distribution

Long Kong, Georges Kaddoum

Considering the fact that the mixture gamma (MG) distribution is a general model that can be used to elaborate most well-known distributions, including small-scale, large-scale, and composite fadings, this letter studies the security issue when the received signal-to-noise ratios (SNRs) follow MG distributions. Closed-form expressions for secrecy metrics including the secrecy outage probability (SOP), the probability of non-zero secrecy capacity (PNZ), and the average secrecy capacity (ASC), are derived. Monte-Carlo simulations are presented to corroborate the accuracy of our derived results. Our derived secrecy metrics provide a general and unified analysis framework for the quick evaluation of the secrecy issue over wireless channels, even when the main channel and wiretap channel are subject to different wireless channels.

Exact closed‐form capacity and outage probability of physical layer security in shadowed fading channels

Hussien Al‐Hmood, Hamed Saffa Al-Raweshidy

In this study, the secrecy performance of physical layer when both the main and wiretap channels undergo shadowed fading conditions is analysed. In particular, the average secrecy capacity, secure outage probability (SOP), the lower bound of SOP (SOP ), and the probability of strictly positive secrecy capacity are derived by using the classic Wyner's wiretap model. Two different scenarios for the fading parameters, namely, and m , which represent the real extension of the number of the multipath clusters and the shadowing index, respectively, have been studied. These parameters are chosen first as arbitrary numbers, thus the performance metrics are given in exact closed‐form in terms of the extended generalised bivariate Fox's H ‐function that has been widely implemented in the open literature using various software packages. In the second scenario, both the fading parameters are assumed to be integer numbers to obtain the derived results in simple exact closed‐form mathematically tractable expressions in terms of some analytic functions. The numerical results of this analysis are verified via the Monte Carlo simulations.
