Abstract

The energy spectrum, ground-state phase diagram, pair correlation functions, and concurrence are exactly calculated for a spin-1/2 quantum Heisenberg distorted tetrahedron in a magnetic field. The ground-state phase diagram in the interaction ratio versus magnetic field plane totally involves five different ground states, which differ from one another by the total spin, local pair correlation functions, and/or concurrence. In addition to the classical fully polarized ferromagnetic ground state there also appear four outstanding quantum ground states, two of which belong to a singlet sector and another two to a triplet sector.A degree of bipartite entanglement quantified through the concurrence is examined as a function of magnetic field, temperature, and the interaction ratio.

Probing Dynamical Correlations, Structure Factor, and Entanglement in a Spin-1/2 Heisenberg Tetrahedron

Elham Shahhosseini Shahrabadi, Hana Vargová, Jozef Strečka

This study presents a rigorous analysis of the temperature and the magnetic field dependence of the dynamical autocorrelations and correlation functions in the spin-1/2 Heisenberg tetrahedron. Exact results for these quantities are employed to evaluate the corresponding static and dynamic structure factors, which can be directly probed through inelastic neutron scattering experiments. It is demonstrated that the combination of inelastic neutron scattering data with basic magnetometry measurements enables the extraction of the concurrence serving as a quantitative measure of bipartite entanglement. Notably, pronounced temperature-induced variations in both structure factors and concurrence emerge near two level-crossing fields associated with field-driven transitions between singlet–triplet and triplet–quintet ground states.

Ground State, Magnetization Process and Bipartite Quantum Entanglement of a Spin-1/2 Ising–Heisenberg Model on Planar Lattices of Interconnected Trigonal Bipyramids

Lucia Gálisová, Michał Kaczor

The ground state, magnetization scenario and the local bipartite quantum entanglement of a mixed spin-1/2 Ising-Heisenberg model in a magnetic field on planar lattices formed by identical corner-sharing bipyramidal plaquettes is examined by combining the exact analytical concept of generalized decoration-iteration mapping transformations with Monte Carlo simulations utilizing the Metropolis algorithm. The ground-state phase diagram of the model involves six different phases, namely, the standard ferrimagnetic phase, fully saturated phase, two unique quantum ferrimagnetic phases, and two macroscopically degenerate quantum ferrimagnetic phases with two chiral degrees of freedom of the Heisenberg triangular clusters. The diversity of ground-state spin arrangement is manifested themselves in seven different magnetization scenarios with one, two or three fractional plateaus whose values are determined by the number of corner-sharing plaquettes. The low-temperature values of the concurrence demonstrate that the bipartite quantum entanglement of the Heisenberg spins in quantum ferrimagnetic phases is field independent, but twice as strong if the Heisenberg spin arrangement is unique as it is two-fold degenerate.

Breakdown of intermediate one-half magnetization plateau of spin-1/2 Ising-Heisenberg and Heisenberg branched chains at triple and Kosterlitz-Thouless critical points

Katarína Karľová, Jozef Strečka, M. L. Lyra

The spin-1/2 Ising-Heisenberg branched chain composed of regularly alternating Ising spins and Heisenberg dimers involving an additional side branching is rigorously solved in a magnetic field by the transfer-matrix approach. The ground-state phase diagram, the magnetization process and the concurrence measuring a degree of bipartite entanglement within the Heisenberg dimers are examined in detail. Three different ground states were found depending on a mutual interplay between the magnetic field and two different coupling constants: the modulated quantum antiferromagnetic phase, the quantum ferrimagnetic phase, and the classical ferromagnetic phase. Two former quantum ground states are manifested in zero-temperature magnetization curves as intermediate plateaus at zero and one-half of the saturation magnetization, whereas the one-half plateau disappears at a triple point induced by a strong-enough ferromagnetic Ising coupling. The ground-state phase diagram and zero-temperature magnetization curves of the analogous spin-1/2 Heisenberg branched chain were investigated using density-matrix renormalization group calculations. The latter fully quantum Heisenberg model involves, besides two gapful phases manifested as zero and one-half magnetization plateaus, gapless quantum spin-liquid phase. The intermediate one-half plateau of the spin-1/2 Heisenberg branched chain vanishes at Kosterlitz-Thouless quantum critical point between gapful and gapless quantum ground states unlike the triple point of the spin-1/2 Ising-Heisenberg branched chain.

Multipartite Entanglement of a Tetrahedron Lattice

Rong Zhang, Zhu Shi-Qun, Hao Xiang

Three-dimensional Heisenberg model in the form of a tetrahedron lattice is investigated. The concurrence and multipartite entanglement are calculated through 2-concurrence C and 4-concurrence C 4 . The concurrence C and multipartite entanglement C 4 depend on different coupling strengths J i and are decreased when the temperature T is increased. For a symmetric tetrahedron lattice, the concurrence C is symmetric about J 1 when J 2 is negative while the multipartite entanglement C 4 is symmetric about J 1 when J 2 <2. For a regular tetrahedron lattice, the concurrence C of ground state is 1/3 for ferromagnetic case while C = 0 for antiferromagnetic case. However, there is no multipartite entanglement since C 4 = 0 in a regular tetrahedron lattice. The external magnetic field B can increase the maximum value of the concurrence C B and induce two or three peaks in C B . There is a peak in the multipartite entanglement C 4 B when C 4 B is varied as a function of the temperature T . This peak is mainly induced by the magnetic field B .

Phase Diagram and Quantum Entanglement Properties of a Pentamer S = 1/2 Heisenberg Spin Cluster

Karol Szałowski

Cluster molecular magnets prove their potential for applications in quantum technologies, encouraging studies of quantum entanglement in spin systems. In the paper we discuss quantum entanglement properties of pentamer cluster composed of spins S=1/2 forming a tetrahedron with additional spin in its center, with geometry reproducing the smallest nonplanar graph. We model the system with isotropic Heisenberg Hamiltonian including external magnetic field and use exact diagonalization approach to explore the ground-state phase diagram and thermodynamic properties within canonical ensemble formalism. We focus the interest on two-spin entanglement quantified by Wootters concurrence. For ground state, we find two states with total cluster spin equal to 3/2 exhibiting entanglement, occurring preferably for antiferromagnetic interactions. For finite temperatures, we predict the presence of magnetic-field-induced entanglement as well as temperature-induced entanglement.

Magnetization process, bipartite entanglement, and enhanced magnetocaloric effect of the exactly solved spin-1/2 Ising-Heisenberg tetrahedral chain

Jozef Strečka, Onofre Rojas, Taras Verkholyak +1 more

The frustrated spin-1/2 Ising-Heisenberg ladder with Heisenberg intra-rung and Ising inter-rung interactions is exactly solved in a longitudinal magnetic field by taking advantage of the local conservation of the total spin on each rung and the transfer-matrix method. We have rigorously calculated the ground-state phase diagram, magnetization process, magnetocaloric effect, and basic thermodynamic quantities for the model, which can be alternatively viewed as an Ising-Heisenberg tetrahedral chain. It is demonstrated that a stepwise magnetization curve with an intermediate plateau at half of the saturation magnetization is also reflected in respective stepwise changes of the concurrence serving as a measure of bipartite entanglement. The ground-state phase diagram and zero-temperature magnetization curves of the Ising-Heisenberg tetrahedral chain are contrasted with the analogous results of the purely quantum Heisenberg tetrahedral chain, which have been obtained through density-matrix renormalization group (DMRG) calculations. While both ground-state phase diagrams fully coincide in the regime of weak inter-rung interaction, the purely quantum Heisenberg tetrahedral chain develops Luttinger spin-liquid and Haldane phases for strongly coupled rungs, which are absent in the Ising-Heisenberg counterpart model.
