Abstract

The hybrid circuit is proposed for implementation of continuous-variable quantum state of spin ensembles. Transmission line resonators (TLRs) and the current-biased Josephson junction (CBJJ) provide transfer of entangled field. Dissipative processes lead the system to thermal equilibrium. Squeezed microwave field can be considered as driving force for generating cluster state.

Thermal preparation of an entangled steady state of distant driven spin ensembles

Natalia I. Teper

Entanglement properties are studied in the continuous-variable system of three nitrogen-vacancy center ensembles cou-pled to separate transmission line resonators interconnected by current-biased Josephson junction. The circuit is enhanced by Josephson parametric amplifier, which serves as source of squeezed microwave field. Bosonic modes of nitrogen-vacancy-center ensembles exhibit steady state entanglement for certain range of parameters. Squeezed microwave field can be consider as a driving force of entanglement. Proposed scheme provides generating entanglement for each of the three pairs of spin ensembles.

Two-mode squeezing of distant nitrogen-vacancy-center ensembles by manipulating the reservoir

Wan Li Yang, Z. Q. Yin, Qiuwen Chen +2 more

We present a scheme to engineer a two-mode squeezed state of effective bosonic modes realized by collective excitations of two distant nitrogen-vacancy-center ensembles (NVEs) coupled to separated transmission line resonators (TLRs), which are interconnected by a current-biased Josephson-junction superconducting qubit. By making use of the engineered NVE-TLR magnetic coupling with Raman transition between the ground sublevels of the NVEs, we may manipulate the artificial reservoir by tuning the external driving fields. The TLR decay induces an artificial reservoir, which can drive the system to the desired entangled squeezed states. Our idea provides a scalable way to a NVE-based continuous-variable quantum-information processing, which is close to being achievable with currently available technology.

High-fidelity quantum memory using nitrogen-vacancy center ensemble for hybrid quantum computation

W. L. Yang, Z. Q. Yin, Yong Hu +2 more

We study a hybrid quantum computing system using a nitrogen-vacancy center ensemble (NVE) as quantum memory, a current-biased Josephson junction (CBJJ) superconducting qubit fabricated in a transmission line resonator (TLR) as the quantum computing processor, and the microwave photons in TLR as the quantum data bus. The storage process is seriously treated by considering all kinds of decoherence mechanisms. Such a hybrid quantum device can also be used to create multiqubit $W$ states of NVEs through a common CBJJ. The experimental feasibility is achieved using currently available technology.

Two-mode squeezing generation in hybrid chains of superconducting resonators and nitrogen-vacancy-center ensembles

Sheng-li Ma, Zhen Li, Fuli Li +3 more

We consider a hybrid quantum system consisting of two independent chains of nearest-neighbor linearly interacting superconducting transmission-line resonators, each of which a nitrogen-vacancy-center ensemble (NVE) is magnetically coupled to. In addition, the first-beginning pair of the resonators is locally driven by a two-mode microwave squeezed bath. We show that in the steady state a series of NVE pairs in the up and down chains is in a two-mode spin squeezed state. In the low excitation limit, collective excitation modes of the up- and down- NVE pairs are in the two-mode squeezed state of the driven field, i.e., realizing a perfect squeezed state replication.

Continuous–Variable Entanglement in a Coupled Field–Mesoscopic Josephson Junction System

Tian-Hai Zeng, Shao Bin, Chang Ping +1 more

Continuous–variable entanglement in the interacting system of a mesoscopic Josephson junction with a squeezed field is investigated. It is shown that when the cavity field is initially prepared in a squeezed vacuum state and the junction in its lowest energy state, the coupling system can evolve into a two-mode Gaussian state. The time-dependent characteristic function in the Wigner representation for the system is analytically obtained, and the squeezing degree of the initial cavity field turns out to have not only an apparent enhancing but also a weakening effect on the entanglement of the coupling system under suitable parameter conditions.

Two-mode squeezed states of two separated nitrogen-vacancy-center ensembles coupled via dissipative photons of superconducting resonators

Sheng-li Ma, Xinke Li, Ji-kun Xie +1 more

We propose an efficient method for generating two-mode squeezed states of the collective excitation of two nitrogen-vacancy-center ensembles (NVEs), which are magnetically coupled to two interacting superconducting transmission line resonators via photon hopping, respectively. By applying the external driving fields to induce Raman transitions between the ground-state sublevels of the nitrogen-vacancy center, an effective interaction between the spin ensembles and the resonators can be engineered. We show that the dissipative quantum dynamical process of the two resonators can be employed to steer the two NVEs into a two-mode squeezed state. By comparison with previous proposals, our scheme does not need either an extra superconducting qubit, or external squeezing resource. The present work may have potential applications for implementing NVE-based hybrid quantum computation.
