Abstract

The paper presents necessity of data pre-processing to process the data set through machine learning algorithms, and it filters the raw data to make the data as in compatible format for analysis purpose. The methods such as mean normalization, feature scaling and dimensionality reduction are used for data smoothing and therefore formatted data set gets processed by learning algorithms to predict best possible outcome as per the analysis. Machine learning became famous for such processing purpose and through unsupervised learning we are capable of processing over various data formats. Such algorithms performance is up-to the mark, but as per the availability of inherent parallel processing through quantum machines, computational speedup can be achieved by designing classical equivalent quantum machine learning algorithms. In this paper, we discussed some of the classical unsupervised learning algorithms, and then we propose the equivalent quantum version of algorithms along with the mathematical justification over the complexity analysis and achieved computational speedup and show the betterment by processing such problems over quantum machines.

The machine learning model can infer desired information on processing data sets without being explicitly programmed. It needs refined data to train the perfect model, hence preprocessing is mandatory. The principal component analysis is desired classical existing methods for preprocessing and it requires polynomial time. Now, the research field of computer science is getting influenced by existence of quantum computations, as it supports exponential operations to be performed in parallel over single step of execution. An intrinsic realization of quantum machine provides simultaneous access to either classical or quantum memory. The objective of paper is to understand the importance of data preprocessing and to suggest quantum based solution that takes the advantage of quantum parallelism and thus can obtain computational speedups. So, we contribute to the emergence of quantum computations, processing aspects using quantum accessible memory models and then classical equivalent quantum principal component analysis algorithm. At last we conclude with the mathematical justification over complexity analysis, computational speedups, and prove that quantum algorithms are efficient along with the suggestions of further directions.

Quantum Machine Learning: Harnessing Quantum Algorithms for Supervised and Unsupervised Learning

Mohit Mittal

Quantum machine learning (QML) provides a transformative approach to data analysis by integrating the principles of quantum computing with classical machine learning methods. With the exponential growth of data and the increasing complexity of computational tasks, quantum algorithms offer tremendous advantages in terms of processing speed, memory efficiency, and the ability to resolve issues intractable for classical systems. In this work, the use of QML techniques for both supervised and unsupervised learning problems is explored. Quantum-enhanced models such Quantum Support Vector Machines (QSVMs) and Quantum Neural Networks (QNNs) show outstanding performance in classification and regression tasks by using quantum kernels and entanglement in supervised learning. Moreover, hybrid quantum-classical solutions offer useful implementations on noisy intermediate-scale quantum (NISQ) devices, hence bridging the gap between present quantum technology and practical uses. By means of comparative analysis, this paper emphasizes the possible benefits and drawbacks of QML, thereby providing understanding of its future importance in sectors including material science, finance, and healthcare. In the end, QML opens the path for a new era of intelligent data processing and solves until unthinkable difficult challenges.

Quantum based Support Vector Machine Identical to Classical Model

Disha Uke, Kapil Kumar Soni, Akhtar Rasool

The paper presents an influence of machine learning techniques that can be efficiently solved using quantum computer. Machine learning is considered as a core concept of modeling and mining large dimensionality data and visualizes data instances as a vector. Support vector is one of the trending methods that use supervised learning for classifying the data efficiently irrespective of linearity or non-linearity in data. As the quantum computations already proved to be inherently parallel and can become one of the key factors in order to reduce the complexities while dealing with the classical machine learning model. The quantum machine learning takes advantage of parallelism and can explore the number of vectors and their dimensions in logarithmic time, and hence it can achieve the computational speedup. Now, the main contribution of the paper is to discuss quantum fundamental, quantum algorithm and then to review over classical equivalent quantum support vector machine along with their training algorithm and the comparative analysis between algorithmic growths. At last, the paper justifies the quantum support vector as a highly efficient model that gains the computational speedup and also shows the possibility of further improvement.

Investigating Hybrid Algorithms for Quantum Computing in Machine Learning: Improving Data Processing Speed and Handling Complex Problems

K Nandini, Davinder Pal Singh, Velayutham Rethnagurusamy Kavitha +3 more

Quantum computers acting as ML accelerators have attracted considerable interest as a promising avenue for addressing the limitations of classical computing confronted with solving complex, high-dimensional problems and handling large data sets. The most exciting aspect of quantum computing lies in its quantum advantage via techniques such as quantum parallelism, superposition, and entanglement which allows not only for rapid data processing, but also a means to resolve complex optimization problems beyond the capacity of classical algorithms. Nevertheless, the usage of quantum computing in machine learning is still a fledgling domain, with challenges concerning quantum noise, hardware restrictions, and algorithmic development. In particular, this research is concerned with the development of and study on hybrid quantum-classical algorithms that target to improve ML models in terms of computational capabilities by making use of the best of both worlds. To address this, researchers are developing hybrid algorithms that leverage the strengths of quantum computing for specific tasks, like optimization and pattern recognition, while still relying on classical computing for more flexible and larger-scale processing, ultimately achieving more efficient machine learning systems that can handle large datasets and complex problem-solving more effectively. It includes potential hybrid approaches like quantum-enhanced optimization algorithms, quantum neural networks, and quantum support vector machines, and examines how such algorithms can be used for practical ML problems including data classification, regression and clustering. Furthermore, the paper proposes that hybrid quantum algorithms offer several advantages over their classical counterparts, such as faster convergence rates, higher accuracy in high-dimensional spaces, and improved handling of non-linear and complex problem landscapes. Key advancements in the area of data processing speed and efficiency in problem-solving with and without quantum in the machine learning workflow are also highlighted in the research through comparative analysis and simulation studies. Lastly, the paper concludes by outlining the obstacles yet to be surmounted and the opportunities that lie ahead for hybrid quantum-classical algorithms, such as further improvement of quantum hardware and error mitigation methods, as well as the design of new algorithmic paradigms that seamlessly integrates the classical and quantum computing spaces.

Quantum Machine Learning Algorithms for Big Data Processing

Sarah L. Johnson

Quantum Machine Learning (QML) is a new discipline that unites artificial intelligence and quantum computing and can address computational problems of big data analysis. Traditional machine learning algorithms may be pushed to their limits in dealing with the increased complexity and scale of today's data sets and thus are unable to find useful insights within a reasonable time frame. Quantum computing, capable of tapping quantum mechanical processes like superposition and entanglement, is capable of turning this field upside down. In this paper, the concepts behind quantum computing are discussed and how machine learning could be used using the assistance of quantum algorithms in order to better deal with big data. It explains the most optimal quantum algorithms like Quantum Support Vector Machines (QSVM), Quantum Principal Component Analysis (QPCA), and Quantum k-Means Clustering, and why they are better and faster compared to their classical counterparts. It also explores actual applications in medicine, finance, and artificial intelligence. It also addresses the limits and disadvantages of existing quantum technology like hardware limitations, noise, and complexity of algorithms. Last but not least, it also considers the future direction of trends within the field, with emphasis placed on hybrid quantum-classical systems and quantum machine learning application within the construction of big data analysis.
