Abstract

With further research, the theory of local discrimination of orthogonal product states (OPSs) becomes more and more perfect. In this paper, we present a quantum proxy signature (QPS) scheme based on a set of OPSs that cannot be exactly discriminated by local operations and classical communation (LOCC). Our scheme possesses all the properties of QPS. More importantly, no one can obtain any meaningful information of a signature owing to the different particles of an OPS are separately transmitted. We show that our scheme is secure by a detailed security analysis.

Novel quantum group signature scheme based on orthogonal product states

Dong‐Huan Jiang, Fei Yuan, Guang‐Bao Xu

In this paper, we present a quantum group signature (QGS) scheme based on orthogonal product states (OPSs) that cannot be perfectly distinguished by local operations and classical communication. Our scheme has all the properties of QGS, including unforgeability, undeniability, traceability, verifiability and anonymity. These properties can guarantee the security of the scheme. More importantly, different particles of a product state that comes from a nonlocal set are transmitted separately, thus the information that is encoded in the product state will not be leaked. Security and efficiency analysis of the scheme show that our scheme is secure and efficient.

Local distinguishability of six bipartite orthogonal product states

Guang-Bao Xu, Hua-Kun Wang, Yu-Guang Yang +1 more

It is necessary to investigate the local distinguishability of orthogonal quantum state sets, as their adoption in protocol design helps diminish quantum state transmission and cut operational costs. In this paper, we explore the local distinguishability of six orthogonal product states (OPSs) on any bipartite quantum system. We classify different sets of six bipartite OPSs into eight categories by using the vectors of the numbers of pairwise orthogonality relations, where any two states are orthogonal on only one subsystem within each set. We find that these eight categories contain a total of 78 distinct cases, all but five of which are perfectly distinguishable via local operations and classical communication (LOCC). Furthermore, we discuss the local distinguishability of those five distinct cases in detail. Our work explicitly characterizes the local distinguishability of six bipartite OPSs.

Local distinguishability of five orthogonal product states on bipartite and tripartite quantum systems

Guang-Bao Xu, Zi-Yan Hao, Hua-Kun Wang +2 more

Local distinguishability of orthogonal quantum states can effectively reduce the consumption of quantum resources and lower economic costs in quantum protocols. Although numerous achievements have been made regarding local distinguishability of orthogonal quantum states, some fundamental issues have not been effectively addressed. For example, the local distinguishability of five orthogonal product states (OPSs) is still unknown up to now. In this paper, we give the properties of local distinguishability of five OPSs on bipartite and tripartite quantum systems. Firstly, to characterize the structure of a set of bipartite OPSs, we propose the concept of the vector of orthogonal relations for a set of bipartite OPSs. Secondly, we classify the structures of five bipartite OPSs into six categories by this concept and prove that five of these six categories can be perfectly distinguished by local operations and classical communication (LOCC). Thirdly we show that the local distinguishability of each case of the sixth category singly. On the other hand, we first divide the structures of five tripartite OPSs into eight categories by the vectors of orthogonal relations of five tripartite OPSs. Then we give the local distinguishability of each category. Our work enriches the research results of quantum nonlocality and will provide a clear understanding of the local distinguishability of five OPSs.

Orthogonal product sets with strong quantum nonlocality on a plane structure

Huaqi Zhou, Ting Gao, Fengli Yan

In this paper, we consider the orthogonal product set (OPS) with strong quantum nonlocality in multipartite quantum systems. Based on the decomposition of plane geometry, we present a sufficient condition for the triviality of orthogonality-preserving positive operator-valued measures on fixed subsystem and partially answer an open question given by Yuan et al. [Phys. Rev. A 102, 042228 (2020)]. The connection between the nonlocality and the plane structure of OPSs is established. We successfully construct a strongly nonlocal OPS in ${\mathcal{C}}^{{d}_{A}}\ensuremath{\bigotimes}{\mathcal{C}}^{{d}_{B}}\ensuremath{\bigotimes}{\mathcal{C}}^{{d}_{C}}\phantom{\rule{4pt}{0ex}}({d}_{A},{d}_{B},{d}_{C}\ensuremath{\ge}4)$, which contains fewer quantum states, and generalize the structures of known OPSs to any possible three and four-partite systems. In addition, we propose several entanglement-assisted protocols for perfectly local discrimination of the sets. It is shown that the protocols without teleportation use less entanglement resources that on average and these sets can always be discriminated locally with multiple copies of two-qubit maximally entangled states. These results also exhibit nontrivial signification of maximally entangled states in the local discrimination of quantum states.

Construction methods of nonlocal sets of orthogonal product states on multipartite quantum systems

Guang‐Bao Xu, Zhao-Xia 昭霞 Zhong 仲, Yu‐Guang Yang +1 more

Abstract Nonlocal set of orthogonal product states (OPSs) can improve the confidentiality of information when it is used to design quantum cryptographic protocols. It is a difficult question how to construct a nonlocal set of OPSs on general multipartite and high dimensional quantum systems. Different from the previous works, we first present a novel method for constructing a nonlocal product set with 3 d – 2 members on C d ⊗ C d ⊗ C d quantum system for d ≥ 3. Then, we extend this construction method to C d 1 ⊗ C d 2 ⊗ C d 3 quantum system and ⊗ i = 1 n C d i quantum system respectively, where 3 ≤ d 1 ≤ d 2 ≤ d 3 ≤ … ≤ d n and n ≥ 3. The nonlocal set of OPSs constructed by our method contains fewer elements than those constructed by the existing methods, except for one special case. More importantly, the set of states constructed by our method has a completely different structure from those constructed by the existing methods since our nonlocal set does not contain a “stopper” state. Our result is helpful to further understand the different structures of nonlocal sets on multipartite systems.

Quantum designated multi-verifier signature scheme based on orthogonal product states

Xufeng Li, Guang‐Bao Xu, Dong‐Huan Jiang

Quantum Designated Multi-Verifier Signature (QDMVS) schemes can be applied in many scenes, such as e-voting and electronic bidding. Based on locally indistinguishable orthogonal product states, a novel QDMVS scheme without any third party is proposed. The scheme avoids the use of difficult-to-prepare entangled states such as Bell states and GHZ states, eliminates the use of quantum one-way functions, significantly simplifies the signature verification process. In this scheme, there are n designated verifiers and the integrity of the signature is collectively ensured by these n verifiers. If any verifier makes an error during the signing process, the signature cannot be completed successfully. The identities of the participants are used as the public keys of the signature, which can prevent them from denying their actions. We have proven the correctness of the scheme, and the security analysis shows that the scheme can resist various malicious attacks, and it possesses sufficient security and effectiveness.
