Determination Of Fwhm For Solition Trapping

Abdolkarim Afroozeh, Iraj Sadegh Amiri, J. Ali +1 more

In this study an interesting system in which a bright and dark soliton pulse can be stopped inside a nonlinear waveguide is presented. Here, we propose a system consisting of a series of ring resonators for optical trapping within a nonlinear waveguide. The bright and dark solitons can be controlled and slowed down within the waveguide. The FWHM for the output signals are calculated and used as an optical memory. Bright and dark soliton behaviors within a micro and nano ring resonator are also investigated and described. The required pulse is filtered and amplified, can be controlled and localized within the system. The localized bright and dark solitons are stopped by controlling the input power, which means that the photon stopping can be controlled by light in a ring resonator. Key words: Dark soliton; bright soliton; nonlinear nano waveguide; stopped light

Cryptography using dark-bright soliton to generate keys by orthogonal dark-bright soliton pair

Xaythavy Louangvilay, Somsak Mitatha, 正廣 吉田 +4 more

A method of optical cryptography by using soliton as dark-bright conversion control within a modified add/drop optical filter is proposed. In principle, the coincidence (orthogonal) dark-bright soliton pair has shown promising behaviors, especially when they propagate into the π2 phase shifter, i.e. beamsplitter, π2 phase shift between bright and dark solitons is occurred and separated.Such behaviors can be used to form the orthogonal light modes (solitons), which can be useful for application of cryptography, where in this case the long distance cryptography can be easily managed. In this work we have derived and presented a concept of multi-orthogonal solitons generated by using dark-bright soliton pulses within the modified add/drop optical filter, which is known as a PANDA ring resonator.A pair of optical keys is randomly generated and transmitted into the transmission line, where finally the corrected keys between Alice (sender) and Bob (receiver) can be retrieved.By using the dark-bright soliton conversion control, the obtained output of the dynamic states can be used to randomly form the multi-orthogonal soliton pairs, which can be available for computer and communication security applications, especially for long distance link.

Dark matter-wave gap solitons in dense ultracold atoms trapped by a one-dimensional optical lattice

Jiawei Li, Jianhua Zeng

Optical lattices have been used as a versatile toolbox to control Bose-Einstein condensates (BECs) in recent years, and a wealth of emergent nonlinear phenomena have been found, including bright gap solitons and dark ones, among which the former has been realized in experiments. The latter, however, has only theoretical results and its fundamental properties are still not well understood. Here we theoretically and numerically explore an open issue of creating stable matter-wave dark gap solitons in a one-dimensional optical lattice, onto which the BECs with self-defocusing quintic nonlinearity are loaded. Using linear-stability analysis and direct simulations, the formation, structures, and properties of dark gap solitons in quintic nonlinearity have been compared to those upheld by cubic Kerr nonlinearity. In particular, we uncover that the dark gap solitons and soliton clusters are robustly stable in the first finite band gap of the underlying linear spectrum, and are hard to be stabilized in the second gap. The predicted dark gap solitons are observable in current experiments on dense ultracold atoms, using an optical lattice technique, and in the optics domain for nonlinear light propagation in periodic optical media with quintic nonlinearity.
