Abstract

The importance of dependable security in up-to-date IT solutions is gaining more critical importance each day.A strict policy accompanied by continuously monitored traffic is required to avoid threats by the use of the latest technology. With increasing significance the protection of knowledge and expertise needs to be accomplished by well-planned theoretical basics implemented.IT security is a field where total safety cannot even be guaranteed,

Cryptography, that is the science of encryption is one of the important sub-areas of IT security, that of logical secu-rity in particular. Achieving quantum, quantum computing becoming main-stream, poses a growing threat overtime to the security of currently prevalent cryptographic algorithms. In discussing quantum computing this paper also examines what quantum dominance means and why this new technology is dangerous to the security of today's electronic information sys-tems.It then introduces the quantum crypto-graphic and quantum communication solutions currently available, and pre-sents post-quantum cryptographic ef-forts around the world, including the latest studies of the US National Institu-tion of Standards and Technology (NIST), the EU-European Union Agen-cy for Cybersecurity (ENISA), and the NATO as well.

Analysis of Quantum Computer Cybersecurity

Samuel Ovaskainen

Lisäksi, löydettyjen uhkien torjuntakeinojen kehitys on vasta aluillaan. Havainnot osoittavat, että kvanttilaskennan turvaaminen vaatii vielä suuria ponnistuksia.

Quantum Secure Energy-Efficient Authentication Protocol for Digital Twins-Enabled Transportation Cyber-Physical Systems

Sunil Prajapat, Dheeraj Kumar, Pankaj Kumar +3 more

Digital twins-enabled transportation cyber-physical systems are employed in the transportation sector to enhance environmental quality, mobility, and safety. They are digital representations of transportation networks, enable the simulation of these networks’ behavior under various conditions. They can be employed in various transportation sectors, including forecasting traffic congestion, facilitate the optimization of flow and safety, enhance the efficiency of public transportation, improve the efficiency of freight transportation by offering support in this process, facilitates the consideration of future multimodal infrastructure development requirements, furnish drivers with up-to-date information about weather alerts, road closures, and traffic situations in real time, assess numerous aspects like, impacts of various mobility operators, transport users, and environmental conditions. However, the real-time data synchronization in digital twins-enabled transportation cyber-physical systems is accomplished using an open communication channel. Regrettably, the utilization of virtual-reality synthesizing security threats in the network necessitates the implementation of stringent privacy and security procedures, including authentication, encryption, and signature approaches. This study proposes a quantum-key-distribution (QKD)-based authentication protocol for secure communication of digital twins-enabled transportation cyber-physical systems. The integrated quantum in the system ensures the compactness and verifiability of data. The protocol’s security is examined using the Scyhter tool and is verified to be secure by informal security analysis. The proposed scheme achieves its efficiency over current solutions. Moreover, the latest technology and techniques are used to examine the operational capabilities and security features.

Hybrid cybersecurity architecture: quantum monitoring system based on artificial intelligence

M. A. Gordeev-Burgwitz, M. A. Mkrtchian, D. M. Gordeev-Burgwitz

Introduction. The paper is devoted to the digitalization of the industry and the safety of construction. The urban economy includes systems, for example, water supply and sanitation, HVAC and others, the reliability and stability of which are closely related to the level of cybersecurity. In the context of digitalization and the widespread adoption of BIM and automated process control systems, the level of their exposure to cyber threats is significantly increasing. Traditional approaches to security are not effective enough. The practical application of quantum communications and artificial intelligence methods in the field of cybersecurity remains poorly understood. The purpose of this study is to analyze the potential of using quantum technologies and artificial intelligence methods to improve the cybersecurity of BIM and automated process control systems, as well as to assess the prospects for implementing solutions to protect critical infrastructure. Materials and methods. The work uses methods of system analysis, modelling of cybersecurity architectures, as well as machine learning methods to identify anomalies in network traffic and telemetry of BIM and automated process control systems. The technology of quantum key distribution, which provides physically guaranteed confidentiality of communication channels, is considered as a cryptographic basis. Results. A hybrid architecture of BIM and automated process control systems cyber defense technologies is proposed, combining quantum technologies to protect communications and intelligent monitoring based on machine learning to detect abnormal behavior. It is shown that the integration of quantum networks with AI can significantly increase the stability of the system, as well as reduce the time for incident detection. Conclusions. The results of the study confirm the prospects for the joint use of quantum communications and artificial intelligence to protect BIM, automated process control systems. The proposed approach can be used in the design of cybersecurity systems and serves as the basis for further research in this area.
