Abstract

Abstract This study concerns with the evolution of entanglement in a quantum neural network (QNN) model that is locally in contact with data environments. As a valuable resource, duration of entanglement in quantum systems is extremely important. Therefore, the effect of various initial states on the occurrence or decay of entanglement are examined in the presence of information reservoirs. In this study, central spin model was investigated as a quantum version of neural networks inspired by biological models. The architecture of the model is based on a central spin system with two nodes where the nodes are coupled to independent spin baths. Numerical results show that initial state preparation has a profound effect on the fate of entanglement. The results show that the entanglement lifetime can be adjusted by engineering the reservoir states as well as the initial states of the system of interest. The results can be used to improve the performance of the formation or distribution of entanglement in realistic communication network states.

Fate of Entanglement for Initial Separable States in Quantum Neural Network

Ufuk Korkmaz

This study is related to the fate of entanglement for initial separable states in a quantum neural network (QNN) model, which is in contact with the data environments locally. The duration of entanglement in quantum systems becomes extremely important when we consider it as a valuable resource. Thus, the effects of various initial states on the occurrence or decay of entanglement are investigated in the presence of information reservoirs. Especially in this study, central spin model has been examined as a quantum version of neural networks by taking inspiration from the biological models. Our model consists of a central spin system with two nodes to which the nodes are coupled to independent spin baths. Numerical results clearly show that different initial states have a profound effect on the fate of the entanglement. It also shows that the entanglement lifetime can be adjusted by regulating the reservoir states. The results can be used in realistic communication network situations to improve the performance of entanglement formation or distribution.

Disentanglement Dynamics of a Data Driven Quantum Neural Network

Deniz Türkpençe

This study examines the disentanglement evolution of a quantum neural network (QNN) model locally in contact with data environments. As a valuable resource, duration of entanglement in quantum systems is extremely significant. Therefore, the effect of various initial states to the generation or decay of entanglement has been investigated under pure and maximally mixed environmental states as two limit cases. Numerical results show that initial state preparation has a profound impact on the fate of entanglement even in the course of maximally noisy environments. The obtained results reveal that the decay of entanglement of the quantum neural network (with flip-flop type interaction) is affected by the initial preparation of the Bell state even in the presence of pure state environmental monitoring. Depending on the results it’s also suggested to begin with coherent product states since it provides robust entanglement generation with longer disentanglement time during the open quantum system evolution.

Entanglement dephasing dynamics driven by a bath of spins

Jie Xu, Jun Jing, Ting Yu

We have studied the entanglement dynamics for a two-qubit system coupled to a spin environment of different configurations by a z–x-type interaction. Quantum dynamics of the models considered in this paper is solved analytically. Moreover, we show that simple and concise results may be obtained when certain approximations are properly made. Our purpose is to find out how the entanglement of a central spin system is affected by the pre-designed factors of the system and its environment, such as their initial states and the coupling constants between the system and its environment. Clearly, how the system is coupled to its environment will inevitably change the feature of entanglement evolution of the central spin system. Our major findings include the following: (i) the entanglement of the system of interest is sensitive to the number of spins in the environment, (ii) the initial states of the environment can profoundly affect the dynamics of the entanglement of the central spin system and (iii) the entangled environment can speed up the decay and revival of the entanglement of the central spin system. Our results exhibit some interesting features that have not been found for a bosonic environment.

Decay of Entanglement of Correlated Qubits Through Bosonic Fields

Deniz Türkpençe

Distribution of entangled parties with the longest time possible is of importance to quantum communication. Therefore, analyzing the decay character of entanglement of correlated qubits in the presence of reservoir effects is of significance to the quantum-based technologies. This study covers the analysis of the temporal entanglement decay of two maximally entangled qubits against different reservoir types and system parameters. It is shown how varying the coupling type of the system to the environment affects the lifetime of entanglement. In the presence of quantum interaction between entangled qubits, it is possible to enlarge the entanglement lifetime depending on the initialization of entanglement. Model parameters used in the numerical calculations and the results are general enough to be applied in any specific quantum-based experimental task.

Decoherence in a Quantum Neural Network

Deniz Türkpençe, Tahir Çetin Akıncı, Serhat Şeker

In this study, we propose a spin-star model for spin-(1/2) particles in order to examine the coherence dynamics of a quantum neural network (QNN) unit. Since quantum computing paradigm promises advantages over their classical counterparts, quantum versions of neural networks can be examined in this context. We focus on quantum coherence as a natural resource for quantum computing and investigate the central spin coherence of a spin star model in the time domain in a dissipative environment. More particularly, we investigate the extend to which the central spin coherence time would be prolonged under specific parameters and spin-coupling Hamiltonians in a Markov environment. We show that Ising-type spin coupling is not desirable since it rapidly diminishes the coherence time in a dissipative environment.

Quantum Neural Networks via Multi-Body Entanglement Optimization

Jincheng Zhang

This paper investigates the potential of quantum neural networks (QNNs) by focusing on optimizing multi-body entanglement within the network architecture. The core claim is that strategic manipulation of entanglement between multiple nodes in a neural network can significantly enhance computational capabilities and improve information encoding efficiency. The proposed mechanism involves designing an algorithm to dynamically control the entanglement strength between nodes. This allows for the realization of more efficient parallel computation and enhanced information encoding. We explore theoretical frameworks and mathematical formulations to demonstrate the potential advantages of this approach compared to classical neural networks. The research highlights a novel pathway toward constructing quantum-enhanced neural network models by leveraging the unique properties of quantum entanglement. The primary focus is on the mathematical modeling and optimization strategies required to effectively harness entanglement for QNN performance.
