Abstract

In the late twentieth century, human race entered the era ofinformation technology (IT). The IT industry, which deals with the production, processing, storage and transmission of information, has become an integralpart of the global economic system, a completely independent and significantsector of the economy. The dependence of the modern society on informationtechnologies is so great that omissions in information systems may lead tosignificant incidents. Telecommunications are the key information technologyindustry. However, information is very susceptible to various types of abuseduring transmission. The units for data storage and processing can bephysically protected from anyone wishing harm, but this does not hold truefor the communication lines that span hundreds or thousands of kilometersand are virtually impossible to protect. Therefore, the problem of informationprotection in the field of telecommunications is highly significant. Cryptology, particularly cryptography, deals with this issue. Quantum cryptography is arelatively new field ensuring safe communication between the sender and therecipient using the laws of quantum physics. This paper seeks to address theprinciples of the quantum distribution of a key for information encryption andthe fundamental problems arising from the execution.

A Secure Method of Communication in Conventional Cryptography using Quantum Key Distribution

Chunduru Anilkumar, Bhavani Gorle, Kinthali Sowmya

Security knowledge is one of the foremost challenges in the present day. When the topic is about Information security, the concept of cryptography comes into the picture. Every day, people and organizations use cryptography to maintain the confidentiality of their communications and data as well as to preserve their privacy. Today, one of the most successful methods used by businesses to protect their storage systems, whether at rest or in transit, is cryptography. Yet, cryptography is an effective technique to secure the data, the modern technology can break the cryptographic techniques. But some data encryption algorithms are several times stronger than today's conventional cryptography and can be constructed using quantum computing. They are "Quantum Cryptographic Algorithms ". Quantum cryptography uses the rules of quantum physics instead of classical encryption, which is based on mathematics, to protect and transmit data in a way that cannot be intercepted. Quantum key distribution is the greatest illustration of quantum cryptography and offers a safe solution to the key exchange issue. The proposed work deals with quantum cryptography and mainly focuses on how the quantum cryptographic algorithm is more secure than traditional cryptography.

Rajesh Kumar Pateriya, Dr.J.L. Rana, Anupriya Gupta

In the era of information technology the need for secure communication has become increasingly important. Cryptography is a technology for creating the core of information security we use cryptography for making data secure which is the science of information protection from unauthorized interception and tempering. Most modern cryptographic studies design cryptosystems and algorithms using mathematical concepts which are based either on factorization or on discrete logarithm problem. In recent years quantum information research has lead to the discovery of a number of remarkable new paradigms for information processing and communication. These developments include quantum cryptography schemes that offer unconditionally secure information transport guaranteed by quantum-mechanical laws, which provide protection of system security, and optimization of system efficiency and detects intrusion and wiretap. Today quantum cryptography is used in various application for transferring secure data without the fear of keys being compromised. This paper reviews the various areas where quantum  cryptography is successfully implemented, its advantages disadvantages & technical issues.

A study on the development of quantum cryptography and some challenging issues

Malinka Ivanova, Emanuil Ilchov

Quantum cryptography is a revolutionary field that applies the principles of quantum mechanics to provide secure communication channels. One of the most popular techniques in quantum cryptography is Quantum Key Distribution, which uses quantum states to deliver secure keys. The main advantage of quantum cryptography is that it offers protection against eavesdropping and tampering, which is not possible with classical encryption methods. This is because copying data in a quantum state is virtually impossible, and any attempt to intercept or manipulate the data will result in its complete alteration. As a result, any third-party interference can be detected quickly. Traditional cryptographic algorithms used in modern cryptography are vulnerable to attacks due to the evolution of quantum computers and mathematical advances in the decomposition of large integers. Therefore, the solution to address this vulnerability is to apply the principles of quantum physics to cryptography. The aim of the paper is to survey the current scientific achievements in the field of quantum cryptography and to present some challenging issues.

Quantum Cryptography, Quantum Communicatıon and Quantum Computing Problems and Solutions

Muharrem Tuncay Gençoğlu

The development of quantum technologies will open up new perspectives in the use of quantum algorithms, the creation and modeling of complex physical and biological systems, new physical methods of transmitting, receiving and processing information. In turn, this will give impetus to the development of a large number of applications in the scientific, technical, economic and social spheres of society. Quantum cryptography is a communication protection method based on certain phenomena of quantum physics. Unlike traditional cryptography, which uses mathematical methods to ensure the secrecy of information, quantum cryptography focuses on physics, where information is carried using objects of quantum mechanics. The process of sending and receiving is always carried out by physical means, for example using electrons in an electric current, or photons in fiber-optic communication lines. In this process, the current situation was determined and the problems encountered and the solution suggestions for these problems were tried to be addressed.

QUANTUM CRYPTOGRAPHY: PRINCIPLES, PROBLEMS, AND PROSPECTS

Ілля Геннадійович Калюжний

Quantum cryptography is a relatively new but promising method for secure data transmission. Today it is believed that it can ensure the absolute secrecy of data, resulting from the principles of quantum physics, on which it is based, namely the uncertainty principle of quantum Heisenberg. According to this principle cannot measure any aspect of photons without distorting thus irrevocably different option. That is the recipient of a message knows when attempting invasion in this necessarily knows. To create a quantum communication channel often use fiber optic lines or open space in which carriers serve single photons or pairs of entangled photons are often used.Three tasks facing cryptography are:1. Ensuring the confidentiality of messages sent via open communication channels.2. Authentication messages that confirm the validity of the information received and sent.3. Installing intrusion in fact, if it took place.Given the importance of information security, quantum cryptography technology will soon be available not only banks or large corporations but also individuals. Leading IT companies are in search of optimum circuit solutions that would produce industrial equipment for the transmission of confidential information available for mass use. The main obstacles for implementation of quantum cryptography methods are short distances, which can transmit information with modern facilities, high cost and cumbersome equipment. To solve these problems prompted the idea of creating a hybrid air-fiber system using satellite communications is proposed. The use of artificial satellites for the transmission of photons through the air opens the possibility of secret key clients in any part of the Earth and even beyond. It is also appropriate to review the possibility of using existing telecommunication and electrical networks for the transmission of quantum keys. The ideas p presented in the paper, open new space for scientific experiments.

A COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW OF QUANTUM CRYPTOGRAPHY: PRINCIPLES, PROTOCOLS, AND PRACTICAL CHALLENGES

Pagalla Bhavani Shankar, Babu Reddy Mukkamalla, Mullangi David

The quantum cryptography approach is a significant change in secure communication in the sense that quantum cryptography bases its security on the law of quantum physics as opposed to computation difficulty. With classical encryption methods rapidly losing their resistance to the power of the underlying computers as well as the expected possibilities of the quantum computers, quantum cryptography comes into the limelight as a possible method of securing information in the long term. The paper is a detailed and systematic review of quantum cryptography along with the fundamentals of this practice, the way it works, and its practical implementation. It describes the ability of quantum phenomena to be unique (including superposition, uncertainty, and disturbance of measurement) and able to secure a key exchange as well as ensure any attempt of eavesdropping would be automatically noticed. In the review, the authors mainly discuss quantum key distribution (QKD) protocols, their functioning principles, security assurances, and the benefits of quantum over classical key exchange schemes. Besides that, the paper critically evaluates the real issues surrounding the implementation of quantum cryptographic systems such as hardware limitations, transmission range, environmental noise, and compatibility, to existing compatibility infrastructures. Recent advances in the field of experiments and pilot implementations are presented to determine the maturity of new technologies, and their suitability to be used on a large scale. Through its analytical review of theoretical assets, as well as practical constraints, this paper offers a definite and equalist view of the state of quantum cryptography today and also explains the research priorities important in its scale, moving away of the test production systems to the dependable and extensive security measures.
