Abstract

We investigated the influence of the quantum-jump-based feedback on the behaviors of the three-level Rydberg system by making use of relative entropy coherence and the square root of quantum Jensen–Shannon divergence. It is shown that quantum relative entropy coherence and quantum Jensen–Shannon divergence are enhanced by particular quantum-jump-based feedbacks and increase with the enhancement of the detuning δ. We also explored the behavior of the entropic uncertainty relationship, and lower uncertainty bounds are obtained with quantum-jump-based feedbacks. The effect of different detunings δ on the entropic uncertainty relationship is also discussed, and it is found that the uncertainty bound decreases when the detuning δ increases.

Few generalized entropic relations related to Rydberg atoms

Kirtee Kumar, Vinod Prasad

We calculate the analytical and numerical values of the position space Shannon entropy, momentum space Shannon entropy, and total Shannon entropy, [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], and [Formula: see text], respectively, of free and trapped Rydberg hydrogen-like atoms. The influence of atomic number Z, the principal quantum number n, and energy E on the Shannon entropy of the Rydberg atoms are illustrated. The scaling properties of Shannon entropy with energy of states E and the principal quantum number n have been reported for the first time to the best of our knowledge. Our work explains how Shannon entropy indicates localization-delocalization of the wavefunction. The total Shannon entropy as a measure of the number of nodes in the trapped Rydberg atom's wavefunction is also discussed. We show why an uncertainty relation based on Shannon entropy is superior to Heisenberg uncertainty for Rydberg atoms.

Dynamics of entropic uncertainty for three types of three-level atomic systems under the random telegraph noise*

Xiong Xu, Mao-Fa Fang

We study the dynamics of the entropic uncertainty for three types of three-level atomic systems coupled to an environment modeled by random matrices. The results show that the entropic uncertainty in the Ξ-type atomic system is lower than that in the V-type atomic system which is exactly the same as that in the Λ-type atomic system. In addition, the effect of relative coupling strength on entropic uncertainty is opposite in Markov region and non-Markov region, and the influence of a common environment and independent environments in Markov region and non-Markov region is also opposite. One can reduce the entropic uncertainty by decreasing relative coupling strength or placing the system in two separate environments in the Markov case. In the non-Markov case, the entropic uncertainty can be reduced by increasing the relative coupling strength or by placing the system in a common environment.

Enhancement of the Quantum Coherence of the Rydberg Atoms System by Weak Measurement

Qi Chen, Jing‐Bo Xu

Abstract The influence of weak measurement along with quantum measurement reversal on the Rydberg atoms system is investigated, and is found to have an important practical significance as both weak measurement along with quantum measurement reversal and Rydberg atoms system can be experimentally realized. The quantum coherence and the entropic uncertainty relation of the system are explored, and it is found that the quantum coherence of the system is enhanced and the values of uncertainty and the uncertainty bound are reduced under some particular weak measurements along with quantum measurement reversals. This indicates that the decoherence effect of the system can be weakened by weak measurement along with quantum measurement reversal. Furthermore, the trace distance which is a reflection of the entanglement is also examined, and it is shown that weak measurement along with quantum measurement reversal can improve the entanglement of the system.

Influence of homodyne-based feedback control on the entropic uncertainty in open quantum system*

Juju Hu, Qin Xue

For an open quantum system containing two qubits under homodyne-based feedback control, we investigate the dynamical behaviors of quantum-memory-assisted entropic uncertainty. Moreover, we analyze the influence of feedback modes and coefficients on the entropic uncertainty. Numerical investigations show that the memory qubit should be placed in a non-dissipative channel if the single dissipative channel condition can be chosen, which helps reduce the entropic uncertainty of the system. For the homodyne feedback control F = λ σ x (or F = λ σ y ) , due to different roles of the entangled qubits A and B, when they are subject to feedback control with different feedback coefficients λ, the exchange of feedback coefficients will cause variations of the entropic uncertainty. When the feedback coefficient corresponding to the memory qubit B is larger ( λ B > λ A ) , the steady value of the entropic uncertainty will be small, which is conducive to enhancing the robustness of the system. However, for the feedback control F = λ σ z , the difference between the feedback coefficients has no effect on the steady values of the entropic uncertainty.

The quantum entropic uncertainty relation and entanglement witness in the two-atom system coupling with the non-Markovian environments

Hong-Mei Zou, Mao-Fa Fang, Bai-Yuan Yang +3 more

The quantum entropic uncertainty relation and entanglement witness in the two-atom system coupling with the non-Markovian environments are studied by the time-convolutionless master-equation approach. The influence of non-Markovian effect and detuning on the lower bound of the quantum entropic uncertainty relation and entanglement witness is discussed in detail. The results show that, only if the two non-Markovian reservoirs are identical, increasing detuning and non-Markovian effect can reduce the lower bound of the entropic uncertainty relation, lengthen the time region during which the entanglement can be witnessed, and effectively protect the entanglement region witnessed by the lower bound of the entropic uncertainty relation. The results can be applied in quantum measurement, quantum cryptography task and quantum information processing.
